Bought an 05XBScg with about 3000miles on it from Pikes Peak HD back in Oct of this year. When I got home the bike had 8psi in the rear tire and 28 in the front. Tire has a leak to this day. After I went back for an owners manual that was ordered when purchased (still havent received it) I ask if they did any kind of services(oil change etc..)when they take in trades. They said no... First bike and first dealing with HD. Is this normal?? |

Hi Helopilot, I bought my Blast 4 months used from the dealer in Houston. They did change out all of the fluids and checked out everything to make sure it was ok. I checked my invoice and they charged me $395 for servicing/preparation, but I felt that it was worth it. |

We change all fluids and check out used bikes when sold for FREE. So should any dealer. I'm afraid your dealer ripped you off 'cause you're a woman. |

Try this on for size, I bought my bike used and asked them to change the oil and primary fluid as part of the deal. Dropped the bike off to have them fix the rough running situation (that's a whole other story), and got it back a few days later and they told me they had done the oil and primary change. Sevearl weeks later, after they had bent me over on everything else (see profile) I decided to change the oil and primary fluid to make sure they had done even that, and I found they had not. The oil was blacker than coal soot in hell, and the primary fluid was milky and the drain magnet had lots of metal on it. The bike shows 8,000 miles, so I'm sure that the primary fluid had never been changed since the bike was new - 6 years ago.... Good thing I changed it... SO yeah, I'd say its normal.... And that's just the beginning of the "normal" bullshit that goes on around HD dealers when Buells are involved... (Message edited by naustin on December 29, 2006) |
