Fork compression question.... Suspension travel is 4.7" right? So is 2.5" of compression good and safe for the loading the XB in the back of my truck? |

One option you might try for taking long trips with the bike tied down, remove the front fender and cut a 2x4 to stick in between your tire and the lower triples. It will keep the pressure more on the tire rather than the fork seals. |

I do that with the dirtbikes...of course you don't to remove the fender It's worked great over the years |

How's your trailer set up? If you have one of the newer style front wheel chucks (sp?) that "locks" the front wheel in place you really don't need much compression at all. An additional front wheel strap further securing the front wheel adds a measure of security. What you will need though is to duct tape the hooks of your straps so they don't un-hook themselves when you hit a bump and the front end compresses and loosens the straps. Henrik |

TLAR works for me too, but here in Ireland the TAF method is more common. Despite being a torque setting (no torque wrench required) it is a widely applicable term. (TAF = Tight As F**K BTW) |
