Just wanted to drop in and say hello, I just picked up an 06 Uly (in Black) the slow color. I have been on this board for a while sportin several other buell models and have been lurking on this thread for a while in anticipation of picking up the Uly. I can say that my Uly has had the Kickstand replaced and I am about to do the Horn mod to stop the Buzzzing... I have been on the ADVRIDER.COM forum for a while and they continually speak very highly of this bike and I know I have seen threads where at least 5-7 people are in the works on picking up Uly's. So it looks like it has a strong following. Anyway thanks for the time and hope to see some of you on the road soon. l8r Slowride (Micah) |

OK, risking being an idiot... what horn mod? I have a new rattle in my airscreen and I figured I'd dive in there soon... |

Congrats on the new bike! I have a 06 Uly and I fixed the horn rattle by placing a small piece of rubber between the horn and the mounting bracket. Works fine now! As for the black being the slower color, don't believe it! |

LOL, Thanks Electraglider.... Yeah, the slowride has always been an oxymoron "Take Moron to the extreme" The horn mod is the bending of the horn mount or tieing up the springy thing it sits on to keep it from hitting the front fairing. I read about it on the ADVRider forum... Can't find it off hand, but that was the source. |

Orange is faster and safer Congrats on choosing an awesome ride. Don't feel bad about the HD color scheme....you'll get used to going a little slower 'cause you will need to spend so much time cleaning and polishing. |

I fixed my horn rattle by removing the mount and bolting the horn to where the mount was bolted. |

Welcome to the dark side. Don't be bothered by those who tell you the other color is faster than black, it isn't. All they are doing is living in a fantasy world of bright colors or trying bring back their childhood Schwinn bicycles. OK Slayer, your turn.............. |

Congrats on the new Uly! Not that it's rocket science or anything, but I recently fixed my horn rattle by slipping a 1.5" piece of 1" o.d.(I think) plastic tubing over the horn arm, mounting bracket. (Unbolt: Slip on: Bolt up)- Hey, someone is bound to ask! If anyone wants my "Official Anti-Buzzing Horn Mod", contact me. I have lots of that same plastic tubing left. Send me $10 and I'll send you my "Official Kit"! (Message edited by Buelet on November 16, 2006) |

Come on slowride, you are just Crusty posting a joke, right? Nope; he's not me. It's a bit of a shame that he chose the color more popular with people whose lives are drab and colorless, rather than the sexier and more vibrant ORANGE. However, ALL Ulys are neat machines, and I hope he gets as much fun from his as I get from mine. Seriously; Congratulations, Slowride. You've got yourself a great bike that just keeps getting better with time. |

And just think, you can actually make the ULY pay for itself by refining the silver and copper out of the used oil. |

Ok,Ok,Ok, I haven't been able to ride the bike since I picked it up on Tuesday and today I skipped out of work a little early and took it out for about an hour or so. After owning and riding both, the 00' M2 and 99' X1 all I can say is WOW! I am a ripe old age of 32 and I have owned well over 15 different bikes (R1,TLR,Sporty,Vstar,GSXR,YZ250) etc. I have ridden several XB12's (S,SS and R)...This has been the bike I have been looking for. I was in total shock today. This bike is bone stock and after just a few miles I was pulling power (non-clutch) wheelies in first and second like it was a casual affair. I took it down some pretty good back roads and the bike sucked up the bumpy and pot holed strewned road like butter. I actually missed catching a really big tire eating pot hole and I nailed that baby dead on. The bike didn't even bobble. It barely felt it. The bikes ergo's were dead on for me and I think the only thing I will change will be the pegs. I think I am going to go with the wider pegs off of Cortech's page. WoW! WoW! WoW! I think this will enable me to sell the rest of the herd, I am speechless. You guys have been holding out on the rest of us Buellers.... |

"Motorcycles come in 2 colors....black and dark black" I thought that motorcycles only came in one color, BLACK. Unless your talking about those Japanese rice burners. |

Hey Slowride, congrats on the Uly! I think you need to change the pic in your profile to more accurately depict your "advanced" age and change in riding style. |

OK King Richard, You got me there. But was your Orange Crate a single speed or one of the ones with a shift lever mounted on the frame between your legs? |

Did you ever get anyone to send you some "take off" tires? I feel bad that you continue to run on bald tires.......so sad. Maybe you spend too much money on wash and waxing supplies for that black finish.....oh, and all of that chrome polish you HD life-style guys use?! |

Skinny_Legitimate and Vern, I've not heard from Carlos (M2NC) this AM but I assume he's rolling this way. I'll roll off the top as soon as the sun's up and we're going Dragon hunting. So, whatcya'll doing Yes, don't ask, it's gonna be chilly. |

I wish I could. Doing the family thing today. Saturdays are always tough. I usually get a "good ride" once a quarter. Vern used my last one. I have ordered a fresh donut and will have it installed soon. I don't think my current 2800 mile Azaro would make the trip to the Dragon and back. |

OUCH.........You are so correct. Decades ago I worked in a Schwinn store. Bet you thought you had me with the "crate" comment, didn't you? There are still some things us old guys still remember. I never had one but always wanted one. I guess my BLACK ULY will have to be a substitute......} |
