06 12R has 20k on it and the clutch after numerous adjustments just doenst feel "new". I remember I used to have a bit of tension in the lever when I would pull on it. Now when I shift between 1st and 2nd, once in a while I will get a little "crunch" that should not be present. Anyway if your DAVES what am I looking at for a replacement clutch? ADAM |

at worst you should only have to replace the friction and steel plates. I'd go with the Barnett replacements 125.95 |

Mine has an occasional tendency to miss 2nd and slip into neutral when I'm accelerating hard. It's a bit embarrassing to miss 2nd like that as you guys can imagine. Think this is a clutch adjustment issue? I have tweaked the clutch cable adjuster per the shop manual a couple of times with slight improvement. I have also experimented with the angle of the shifter to better accommodate my Supertechs. Is this just the nature of bridging across neutral to grab 2nd and I'll just have to be more firm and methodical when doing so, or is there another adjustment I need to address? The bike's currently got 8,800 miles on it and I really haven't been that hard on the clutch. Surely the clutch itself is not worn out? I am also meticulous about my fluids. She gets a fresh quart of SportTrans Fluid in the Primary every 1,000 miles whether she needs it or not. |

probably just an issue with your method of shifting. You have to shift like you mean it with a Buell |

I had brought this up before, does the current new style shifter barrel fit in the previous year buells? |

Primary chain is within tolerance according to my shop manual. Thanks for reminding me to check it out. I think Dave may be right since it only happens when I'm trying to run through the gears in a hurry. I would imagine I'm just not putting enough pressure on it to get the job done sometimes. I'm thinking of trying out one of Al's billet shifters. I understand the peg is a lot bigger. Surely I'd be better able to get my foot under it easier since it sticks out further. |

Those would be the ones Dave. How long is the peg on that shifter? |

not sure how long it is. It appears to be longer than the stock one though. |
