if your looking for the best buell shop in town (just DONT DONT DONT DONT use their service and ONLY ONLY ONLY deal with a few select guys at parts....PM me for details) is Glendale Harley.
Are you paying Cash or financing? That also makes A HUGE difference when purchasing a bike or for that matter anything at all.

Ive found the best leverage you have in dealing to buy a bike is not on the bike itself but in the accessories. Try to get some parts or Buell apparel thrown in for you.

Whoa! I wouldn't, I had a bad experience there with a sales manager who wouldn't deal and a sales girl named Jessica. DO NOT DEAL WITH HER. She lied to me, insulted my intelligence when she showed me the price breakdown by making it look like I was getting a better deal than I was (She lumped a bunch of extra cost in to setup and frieght). After negotiating a bit, I told her what I wanted my CityX for OTD, and she YELLED at me said I was wasting her time. So I told her I was gonna go pick up my bike elsewhere, and she said go ahead you'll never find that deal - well, I bought my bike that night from Biggs. I called up Mike @ Biggs told him if he could let his last '06 CityX go for that price I would be down there that night, he called back, said you have a deal and I have a bike in my garage.

On the flip side, the people in clothing and parts at California always seem nice enough and they do have a small selection of Buell Apparel and three styles of jackets (just nothing in my size).

Josh, thanks for publishing the set up check list.

IMHO it's important for all of us who depend on our dealers, and that is ALL of us, (no dealer, no Buells) to better understand the dealerships. I have found my M/C ownership experience is at it's best when the dealership and I have a good working PARTNERSHIP. This can only happen if the dealership understands your needs and desires and we, the customer, understand their needs and values.

I do believe the dealerships want to satisfy our needs AND they must make a profit.

Perhaps some of you that work in the business can do more in this forum to help all of us better understand the view from your side of the counter. We get an eyeful of customer perspective, let's hear it from the other side. The "set up" check list is a good example.

Let us know more about what happens on the inside. Information on dealership overhead expenses. employee training, staffing selection and turnover, liabilities, Tech. issues, customer experiences (the good the bad and the ugly,) etc... would help us better understand our dealerships and aid us in developing that partnership.

Perhaps a net topic, maybe titled "behind the counter", could be implemented here.

Oh well, I'll go have another cup of coffee now! Thanks for listening.

Mainstream....I would love to give you the low down on everything, but I would have to say that I dont think dealerships, nor Buell would like that sort of info going out. What I will say is that Buells DO come pretty much ready to go. What I mean by that is any good tech should be able to check fluids and go over that checklist in just a few hours at TOPS. Buell prices are the same no matter where you go in the country. ANY good dealership should be willing to bend over backwards for the sale. Just like electronic sales.....if you dont like the deal then go somewhere else. If the salesman isnt willing to drag you out of the parking lot and back into the dealership, then I think your best bet is to go somewhere else. A good rule of thumb is that your salesman is going to treat you and the bike just like the service/parts dept will. A crappy sale is just one part of a worn down ladder, that will only cause you problems in the end. One thing alot of customers dont understand from a dealer perspective is that for alot of dealerships that stock buells, its a uphill battle. (Now I am sure that someone will argue, but this is only from my point of view). Dealerships with a very strong buell base can wheel and deal on both motorcycles and product. Dealerships that dont have alot of interest are stuck with merchandise and motorcycles they cant sell, so when it comes time to reorder bikes and clothing they take a smaller amount. Thus, we get guys in here that complain we arent trying to market to them. Its not that dealerships arent marketing product....its that they know HARLEY branded products and bikes are what pays the bills. We have tried sales, demos, open houses, but its the lack of CUSTOMERS that makes the dealership decide to focus money and energy elsewhere. My advice to consumers.....if a dealership doesnt have what you like, dont get mad. Ask if they can show you a product booklet and have them order something for you. Most dealerships would love to help with that. But unless you have more then just a few people wanting parts,clothing, accessories the best deal is to just ask the dealership to give you the option to order it, and expedite the shipping for you. (since most dont stock buell parts) Thats my 2 cents......hope this gives you some insight!!!!

I work for Skip Fordyce. We just opened a satellite store in the Corona area (Serfas Club off of the 91 frwy.) That is why it looks like we have a high turnover rate, but in fact we are shifting staff around to cover both stores. We are selling Buells out of both locations.

We are currently increasing our Buell brand in parts at the Riverside store and we will be stocking Buell parts and accessories in Corona also.

I got lucky on mine and bought it in September 05, just a few months after Buell started cutting down on the stores allowed to sell Buells. Got it for $500 under sticker. I'd say $11.3 is a little high my friend, unless that comes with the race kit and a helmet or something.

I agree with what was said about the way you're treated by the sales staff. They're supposed to be trying to earn your business. If you can't even get a good experience out of them, what kind of service do you think you're going to get after they've swindled you on the sales floor? There's good dealerships out there. Do your homework.

bought mine in perfect, new condition with 1600 miles on it, most of the factory warranty left, all manuals and receipts for $6,600.00 from a private party. Its a 2004, but the changes weren't worth nearly 5 grand more to me. The deals are there, just have to look.
