After getting the ignition issues sorted out the night before last, last night (Thanks to the UPS man) I got to install my new Special ops pipe from Odie and my Right Side Scoop (RSS) from R. Crins. I went with the Special Ops modded 9 pipe with dual outlets so I can eliminate the servo motor, cable and valve so I can use the race ECM. Odie's can went on way too easy, didn't even have to loosen the belt. That can is waaay lighter than the stocker, and the dual exhaust ports look and sound cool as sheit. The RSS required a lil bit of shimming to get everything to line up right, but now it looks like it came on the bike. Installed the race ECM I got from ebay, and did a TPS reset. The test ride was awesome. The freaking bike should come like this. Current setup is 07 airbox, K&N filter, race ECM, NGK 2202s, spec ops can, RSS, Odies heat shields (3 pc set) and the Corbin carbon seat and a zero gravity windshield. No heat on the legs. No heat on the arse. The fan did not come on until I came home after the test ride and let it idle for quite some time. No fan this morning on my 30 mile ride to work-even after I switched off the key. My thanks to everyone that jumped through the "hoop" to make all these mods happen so quickly. We leave for 10 days on the Dragon and will be staying in Robbinsville all next week. I will have my laptop with cables so if any fellow Buellers wants a TPS reset while I'm there, just flag me down and we can make a plan to hook up somewhere. I'll be the blacked out Uly with hard bags installed and the ole lady on the back, or the crazy mofo blastin the Dragon on the red XR650 motard. Thanks again for everyones help, and this site ROCKS. |

How loud is the special ops can compared to stock? I could only hear intake and pushrods stock. The Idle resembles a well tuned harley, if there is such a thing. The revs sound like an older muscle car with thrush turbo mufflers. The performance difference is night and day. This thing will pass 100 waay to fast. At least it has great brakes! |
