www.topgearleather.com They look pretty good. Shame they aren't perforated. I think they would be too hot here in FL. I just got a pair of the FAMMZ perforated leather pants off eBay. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality for the price. |

Mike - dunno where you are as far as existing gear but... I just bought a Joe Rocket 990 jacket http://www.newenough.com/joe_rocket_990_jacket_page.htm so I could zip it to my Teknic Sport leather pants to make a legal (albeit mismatched) suit. Both jacket and pants are great from a quality and comfort level. What's my point you ask? looking at seperate pieces (jacket/pant) could also be an option for you |

had another look at this...there doesn't seem to be much about armour...most places usually say "CE approved" or some other quality certification, so I'd make sure it comes with good armour that said, it looks like they have an amazon storefront with the same 2pc suit listed for less... http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000J3K3UK/sr=1-7/qid=1161097444/r ef=sr_1_7/104-5681516-0697505?%5Fencoding=UTF8&me=A18U9FB9AQXVSN&v=glance |

BdaBuell, it's a good thing that Joe Rocket comes with the other half of that zipper, you're gonna need it. Joe Rocket won't zip to Teknic. I've already been down that road. Several of my jackets won't fit other brands of pants, zippers go in opposite directions, zipper is too short/long, wrong teeth... I'm glad they all tend to come with the other half of the zipper, it's an easy fix from there. |

Glitch - you're right...the whole zipper thing becomes very frustrating...the Teknic and Joe Rocket zippers go in opposite directions so thank goodness for the other halves... What I did for now was have a tailor zip the 2 other halves to each other...sorta back-to-back and in their respective directions. So I now have 2 zippers sewn to each other....the teknic half zips to the pants and the Joe Rocket half zips to the jacket, effectively joining the 2. I had the tailor do a few different lines of stitching for strength. I was worried about this being a point of weakness but I don't think it will be any weaker/stronger than having the zipper sewn to the jacket/pant |

That's exactly what I had done. I even tested it, not on purpose mind you. It held up really well, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. |

bda, thanx for the amazon info. as far as armour all it says is dual density at the elbows, knees, and shoulders. 199 seems too cheap, raises all the red flags. buyer beware, right. think i may just wait and go for a mismatch as you suggested. the teknic pants are a real nice piece of kit. |
