I'll keep it short tonight, because I am beat, but today was awesome. Our local SoCalBikeNuts Yahoo Group (come join us on Yahoo if you are a So Cal Bueller) got together today for an awesome ride around Southern California (some of us are BadWebbers too, like Jim in SB, Cafe Bill, and Timbo). Our group was pretty formidable, as there was 12 of us, represented by Jim's Uly (thanks for the seat time Jim!), Timbo's XB9R, two CityXs, two V-stroms, and a bunch of Sportsters (that how most of us originally got to know eachother). No casualties today and the weather was absolutely beautiful, with a high somewhere in the 80's and ribbons of two lane asphalt a plenty. There were tons of LEO's, but no one in our group got popped, as we kept a nice clean pace all day. Some of the highlights were Ortega Hwy, Palomar Mountain Road, the Hideout, and S22 to the desert floor, aka the Glass Elevator among other great roads. We had a great time and even saw a couple of other Buellers, a black XBS on Ortega, and a red XBS on Palomar (thanks for the heads up on the Chippie!), was it any of you BadWebbers? As I pulled in to my garage, my GPS info showed a day with 335 miles added to my Hero, nearly 7 hours of moving time, an average speed of 32mph and a top speed of 112mph. I also wheelied the Hero for the first time, as well as nearly eliminating my chicken strips (1/4-in to go!). Man I love my Buell! I'll post pics later... --Sean |
