Sunday I did a saddle sore 1000 on my Uly. My mileage total was 1027 (gps) with a ride time of 14 hr 59 min, with stopped time of 2 hr 0 min. My average speed was 60.4 mph. I did a mix of interstate and US routes. I had no problems with my Uly, it was a pleasure to ride. |

Nice job. Careful, it can become addictive. |

thanks guys. Chris, no throttle lock, I use an Oring sometimes, but didnt this time. I guess years of holding a throttle open for long periods has me conditioned. Bob, in the days before the IBA, I used to see how far I could go on a weekend on whatever bike I owned at the time. I have 1800 mile weekends on a 400cc bike. I understand the addiction, but at 48, I limit my long distance riding. My next goal is to do one with my girlfriend, she has done 9 hours straight in the rain and never complained. The 06 seat is good for around 500 miles, and then monkey butt starts creeping in the picture. Could be that my butt cheeks arent what they used to be. The Cee bailey +2.5 was fine for the ride, I am not sore in the upper body, other than the usual sitting on a bike for 14 hours would bring. I have riding friends that have bugged me for years to get an iron butt plate. The Uly was a great bike for earning my first "official" SS1K, and I have a feeling it wont be the last, official or not. |
