Well, two days after I got it totally legal for riding, my father-in-law borrowed my Blast, and laid it down. oh well, I guess I'm going to start my projects early. It is only scratched, the front left turn signal is broken, the left peg is bent, the shifter is bent, the headlight bracket is bent as is the flyscreen bracket. The tank cover, flyscreen, tail and peg holder are all scratched and will need sanded down. I'm thinking of painting everything to match my new helmet and jacket. I also am going to expedite my purchase of the dominator lights and a XB Lightning flyscreen. Anyone with any advice for painting, dominator lights, sanding, replacing any of the above parts, would be greatly appreciated. I've had the bike since Aug 12... three weeks in, it's time to start the work.

Here's a pic of my helmet and jacket. It's a Joe Rocket Blaster 2.0 Jacket and a HJC CL-SP Animus Helmet.

The Dominator lights are nice with the 2 H4 headlights, easy plug in connector and fairly simple install.
The XB lights are reportedly cheaper at about $70, but with only 1 headlight on at a time (but they can be converted). I dont know about installation though and I dont know anyone here who has used the XB lights on their Blast (might be someone, but I dont remember who).

Decals work better than paint if you can accomplish what you want that way.

E-bay for used replacement parts if needed, but know the new price before you bid.
Complete turn signals are cheap from the dealer at $6 (or less,)but will routinely go for twice that or more on ebay!
Flyscreen brackets bend back easy!

PS dont go crazy with the sandpaper unless you fully intend to paint. It kills the shine that you cant get back.

ok... upon further inspection, the brace that holds the pegs is bent on the left side. It is nearly touching the transmission. My initial thoughts were to fab up some rear sets. Anyone have any schematics on a system that works well?

I couldnt find Jprovo's plans, but if you go through the archies you'll get the idea.
There's probably at least 6 different ways to get it done! It just takes a drill and jigsaw.
