If you were waiting for a deal. I was at Lake Shore Harley Davidson/Buell in Libertyville, IL today and they have a handful of New 06 Uly's for $2000 off MSRP. $9500!! All of their buells are seriously discounted. I am not associated to them other than buying a bike from them. Just thought I would pass that on. |

They were high at $500 when I bought mine at 1K below MSRP in the spring. Not sure now but I would expect the same. They said they stocked up because they really thought the Uly would sell well. It didn't. He claims he is selling them at invoice. Don't know if that is true. They are going to reduce stock Not a good sign for parts stocking either. |

2000 off is below cost/invoice, that's why I asked about the frt and setup. So, they are selling the bike for 10,000.00 (at least) The Uly does sell well, if you sell them. It is a great bike! |

Dave, Is HD still giving a higher Harley allotment for carrying Buells on the floor, or is that deal over? |

I just got back from Phoenix. The Chandler dealer had three on the floor. Without haggling or anything, the sales guy offered 'em up for $8,995 plus freight and setup (plus TT&L for the in staters). One was orange, two were black. One of the black ones had the low seat. They have a Buell Demo day coming up the weekend of September 23 & 24. Though, I suspect at that price they'll be gone prior. Looked like a nice dealership. I was tempted but was far from home. |

I have been wondering why this time I purchased a bike locally. It is fun to get a bike way far away and fly out and ride it back. I wish the Phoenix deal had been in progress when I got my bike, I would have jumped on it for another cross counrty jaunt. Also the dependablity of the Uly for the first many miles is great so I certainly would not have any qualms about the trip. Looks like a great opportunity for some lucky person. |

How much was frt and setup on the ones at Chandler? Dealers charge different amounts so it affects the deal. I just don't see a dealer willing to lose that much money just to get rid of them? Maybe so? |

Chandler's setup and freight varies depending on the 'sale' price of the bike. When they were offering $1000 off MSRP, S&F was $1450 with an additional $300 for doc fees. But I do not know what they on charging on these sale bikes. |

and there lays the catch 1450.00 for frt and setup? Bwwahahahahahahahahahahaha and then top it off with another 300.00 in doc fees. So, their 8995.00 Sale price is now 10745.00 plus tax and lic of course. I have 06 Ulys on sale for 10495.00 no other charges 15% off all your acc for one year you pay your tax and lic That's the way bikes should be priced. BTW, frt is only 240.00 on a 06 it went up to 245.00 for the 07 bikes, that is what the dealer pays. |

Back in March/April this year, a dealer in Floridia advertised on the web, Uly's for $9500.00. However, the taxable price was close to msrp... (Message edited by teeps on August 29, 2006) |

You have to save a boat load more money than that to make it a better deal that buying from DaveS. Price is but one component. Try marrying the cheapest date you can find. |

That kind of pricing just rubs me the wrong way. Heck, I'll sell the 06 Ulys I have for $1.00 of course the frt,set and doc fees = 10494.00 That is a good one Court |

The Chandler AZ sales guy offered to work up the final price. I told him thanks but I didn't want to waste his time. I have a deposit on an '07 out of Tulsa OK and am picking it up this weekend. I have no idea what they want for freight, setup, etc. Though, perhaps it'd be worth a call to request a quote if one were interested in an '06. DaveS, I owe you an apology. Your quote was the best yet on an '07. Especially the bags, nobody came near you on the bags. I just couldn't figure out how I was going to get the bike back to Texas, complete with break in oil changes and all. I was thinking about riding around your area for an afternoon and then get an oil change from you before heading back to Texas. Perhaps arranging for another oil change in Tulsa and a night of slumber. I didn't really want to drive my gas guzzling Tahoe up there and back with trailer, as an alternative. Seeing the factory would have been cool. Anyhow, I had the Allen TX and Austin TX dealers say they'd match anyone on an in stock '07. However, neither would give me a quote. I prefer to reward the courageous, so eliminated them from the running. The Corinth TX guys eliminated themselves by providing an absurdly high quote. While scratching my head trying to figure out the logistics of a Wisconsin trip, I got an email from the sales manager, Raymond Duran, in the Tulsa HD/Buell dealership. His quote on just the bike matched yours (without me sharing yours). The price on the bags was fair (second best) but a couple hundred higher than yours. Again, sorry about not doing the deal with you. The couple of hundred extra on the bags solved the Wisconsin round trip dilemma and the timing couldn't have been better given that I was going to Tulsa to visit family on the Labor Day weekend anyhow. It just sort of worked out. A karmic thing perhaps. By the way, once I take possession of the black Uly, it'll be a scientific, empirically provable fact that orange is faster. My ridiculous slowness will pull the fleet velocity average for the black bikes to an unprecedented low. Sorry about that my fellow black Uly owners. |

Don't make buying from DaveS a big deal. Just fly up (dealership is very close to airport), he'll set up your suspension, you can ride around WI a litte and then head home. Carry a list of Buell dealers with you (BRAG/HOG atlas thing works well) and stop at one for your oil/prinary fluid change at the mileage you feel comfortable with. I had mine done in Knoxville Tenn. after ~1100 miles. Unless you have a great Buell dealearship near your home I would highly recommend the DaveS route. It might not always be the absolute cheapest deal but it will be a good/fair deal and a great experience. Frank |

Congrats on the new Uly Creature. I too am sorry we couldn't work out the details but that is the way it goes sometimes. I am very proud of you for not falling for the old "we'll match anyone's price" and recognize that as a very cowardly way of selling anything. The people that sell that way need to "grow a pair" and do their job. Frank is right, most people including him, do the fly and ride it home thing. Those deals are so much fun for everyone! |

One of the best buying expereicnes I've had was flying to New Mexico to buy a Ford F-250 SuperCab (they had precisely what I wanted) arriving to find the thing fueled and ready to go with lunch waiting for me. |
