Streaming audio of phone interview with Josh Hayes. His thoughts on the FX class are pretty much in line with John Ulrich and others. SuperSport and SuperStock for Factory support and privateers. FX and SuperBike for full Factory teams. |

I like Josh Hayes. Was even rooting for him to beat EBoz, another favorite of mine, this past weekend. It was a great battle to the finish. |

Nice guy. Its a shame he has to work for that sourpuss, Kevin Erion. |

Speaking of the sourpuss, did anyone else notice the "new bodywork" on the Erion bikes at VIR this past weekend? I would put money on the fact that HRC didn't just give them the bodywork off of Zemke and Duhamel's bikes. My guess is that the bikes were full factory kitted. Seems funny to me that Honda said they were pulling out of FX to concentrate on Superbike, but as soon as Erion starts getting it's ass kicked by Yamaha they jump in to offer their full support. It might as well be a full factory effort. I have to agree with Blake, Josh Hayes is a great guy (even though he is on a Honda). I had the chance to meet him the last two years at Road America, he is by far one of the classiest guys in the paddock. Schmitty |

What they said on SPEED was that the bodywork was wind-tunnel developed for the Daytona 200. Apparently, it is much slicker than the fairings they were using. It seemed to make a difference on the long VIR straight away. The Honda bikes have 3 years of FX racing development on them, as they are the same bikes that Zemke and Duhamel rode...with improvements. They ought to be fast! Josh is a fine dude, that is for sure. Fast too. jimidan |
