I have to say, I never realized what a difference the tires could make. I'm a relatively new rider (got my 04R back in May). I had no idea what a difference they would make over the stock dunlops that were on there. I have had it back for two weeks and already I have cut my chicken strips in half of what they used to be. Feels like i'm riding on rails. Can't wait to see how many miles I get out of these. It's like a totally new bike. The only problem is my 20 minute ride from work now usually takes me an hour and a half! |

The best improvement anyone can make to their Buell is to change from the stock Dunlop tires. The Pirelli tires they put on the new ones should rid the bikes of their "handling quirks" the magazine testers complained about. I love the Scorpion Syncs I just put on my XB9S |

Metzeler Z6s and Scorpion Syncs are great tires, but they are Sport Touring tires, I hope you don't try to pull Dunlop Sportmax grip from a Z6. Metzeler makes M3s for that (just don't want to see you in the "I laid 'er down threads") I know a guy who just got back from the "Gap" and a very capable rider on a more than capable bike BTW and a "Gap" veteran who thought that he would save time and money changing tires half as often and up until that point Z6s were great. I almost put some on myself. He didn't save any time or money himself and cost me for a set of M3s that I just installed on my XB12R. I'll use the Z6s that I bought on the M2. |

I hear ya daytona, I am not draggin' any knees just yet. I still have about an inch to burn on them. The bike just feels like it weighs half as much. I know everyone has their own preferences...and maybe next year I'll take some track classes. Most of my riding is straight up (unfortunately), but I'm definitely coming around! When I was getting on an entrance ramp....before I was worried about getting over onto the highway...accelerating through the corner....now I find myself having to make sure I don't run up on somebody. Definitely having a lot more fun. I know people go crazy on these tire threads...I just couldn't believe how the bike had an entirely different feel to it...and all I did was change the tires. |

OK, I thought I had the concensus on the Pirelli Sport Sync's vs. the stock 207's. I never experienced anything I would call a problem with my stock 207's or my XB9S. I don't have chicken strips (at least on the rear) and I will touch the footpegs down occasionally on the road (in fact one time too many which is another story for which I don't think I can blame the tires). But I do still have a set of Sport Sync's which I was planning to install at least before I go to the track (and still do as soon as I replace my XB9S). Seems to mee that everything I have read indicated that the Sport Sync's were superior in every way, including grip to the 207's. Is this correct? |

I had the stock Dunlops, Metzler M1 Sportec and now the Pirelli Scorpion Sync tires. The Dunlops totally sucked, the Metzlers were a big improvement, I love the Pirellis. |

regular diablo's and love them on my bolt. just got done smoking the edges off at the dragon. next time though my friend and i have both decided we will probably be running super corsa's. i found the limits of the regular diablo's a time or two and still have no complaints though. just think i am going to try the even stickier version next time! |

I have Z6's on my Lightning and am very impressed with them. I do not get my knees down on the street or even try to. I have 6K miles on them now and just getting ready to replace the rear (got them in June). |

I have heard the Z6's are just fine for track days from many that have done just that...wasn't me but that's what I have heard. |
