Well, I finally did it, went down on the bike. A broken mirror, clutch lever, shift linkage and some scratched plastic. Oh yeah, a broken Hand that will have to be pinned back together. Looks like I need a few parts...LOL |

Oh YEAH! I was coming down the mountains (Superstitions here in Az The road PAST Tortilla Flats) taking corners like crazy (LOTS of twisties on that road), the bike was feeling real good. I can honestly say It was great, right up to the point where I had to load the bike up to get her home! |

You have a good ortho surgeon? I can make a recommendation in So CA. Metacarpal isn't too bad (all things considered) - long as tendons and joints are all good. Rubber side down, shiny side up! |

I've got a couple of screws in my shoulder. Chicks dig scars. And it's loads of fun at airports. |

Thanks guys, for the kind words, I was lucky, there are no guard rails on that road and lots of drop offs... |

Glad you came through it with relatively little damage to your self. I hope you get your hand and your bike back together soon and get back on the road. Let people know what you need and maybe they can help you out with parts. |

I already have a titanium right elbow! I'm hoping to be back on the road by the end of september. I dont need too much just the standard l/h parts! biggest being a l/h handlebar, clutch lever and shift linkage. |

Man, that sounds just like my wreck -without the curvy mountain roads. I broke the thumb on my right hand. I couldn't ride again for 3 months. My 9R faired better than me - torn grip, broken rear foot peg, broken turn signal, slight scratches on the swingarm. When Nick (vegasbueller) had a bad wreck, his 9R didn't look too bad - even though he was in traction for months. It seems these XBs are pretty tough. That's funny Slaughter, I get the red carpet treatment at the airport now At the check-in desk I ask for a wheelchair. The skycaps take me to the front of the line! I even get to board the plane first...even on Southwest! |

Don't knock the wheelchair! After my highside, I was in a chair but totally bummed out. I had already bought tix to Jimmy Buffett - but in the nosebleed section. I roll up to the will-call window and the lady said to me - you NEED wheechair access (otherwise I'd have had to go on my butt up one stair at a time) - she re-assigned me (and Sunny, too) to the totally bitchen accessible section which put us maybe 10 rows up from the stage. It's a high price to pay for priority seating but hey, I know where you're coming from! |

I have pulled the wheelchair trick at more than a couple of concerts. I don't bother anymore as a roadie friend of mine has more laminates than I can count and I can usually just walk in through the door. |

It took me about three weeks to get back on the road after a similar accident, mostly due to the fact that I couldn't bend my knee to shift without ripping the scab open. yummm, scabs....hmmmm. Glad to hear you're ok and already thinking about getting back on. |
