I drilled out the slide, changed to a 45 slow jet and a N65C needle and set the screw to 2.5 turns out. Now the idle is fine, both at closed and open choke, but when I throttle it stalls and gas pours out of the air cleaner. I had the air cleaner off once when I throttled and gas flew out of the carb. Lots of black smoke. What the heck did I do wrong? FYI, 10R12 plugs, sea level, D&D exhaust and Forcewinder. |

Black smoke = rich fuel mixture. Your pouring in too much gas. White smoke = oil burning |

If it only pours when the revving, that would lead me to think it is a problem with the needle or main jet, since the slide only pulls up when the throttle is opened. A thought....the main jet fell out of the emulsion tube? This would have the needle uncovering a big hole. |
