It 'isolates' engine vibrations from the rest of the bike.   Djkaplan Posted on Thursday, August 10, 2006 - 08:36 am:        There are three of them; one on each side at the swingarm pivot and one that supports the front of the engine. The frame is essentially rubber mounted to the engine/swingarm assembly.
