I want a new Black/Red 07 XB12R! Nothing wrong with my old 03 XB9S and I wouldn’t part with it for the world, I just want another one, one of those pretty new Firebolts. Oh and I think Buell should give it to me or just let me ride it for free. In exchange I’d wear Buell apparel all the time and they could put Buell signs on my car. Heck, I only live a few hours from Deals Gap. I could trailer the bikes up in my Land Rover (covered in Buell Signs) and give out Buell provided promotional stuff to all the bikers or other events in the area where sport bike enthusiast gather. They could even shrink wrap my Land Rover with Buell marketing stuff if they want, just as long as I get the use of a new Buell. While I’m at it, Buell could just pay me what my day job does, provide me a car, a bike and lots of Buell promotional stuff to give away and I’d just travel around and do this full time. That would pretty much be my dream job. Ok, back to realty, I’m done dreaming. I just wanted to see a thread with this title that was positive. (Message edited by spectrum on August 05, 2006) |

Sign me up... I'm willing to assist as your business partner; or if the business demand calls for it, work as my own "team". Go ahead and let me know... |

Pay me what my job does, give me a Uly with bags. Load the bags with stuff and I'll RIDE from place to place handing out stuff while making the first 100,000 miles in a year Buell. Crisscross the north/Canada in the Summer, middle states in spring and fall, southern states in the winter. I'd do Iron Butt rides of all stripes. I'd even be willing to pay for my own gas, oil, and tires. |

Sign me up too! I can do this job while I continue to work towards me engineering degree for my eventual job in East Troy! (my mission) I'll even foot the bill for the shifter retro-fits! I could also work on possible "parts bin bikes" like checking the viability of an XB-T based on an SS, Uly tail, w/firebolt fairing. With parts in hand I would be willing to put the time in to make it happen. |

In all seriousness, it would be really smart of Buell to have someone do one of those around the world trips on an UgLY to help rid the world of all this Buell unreliability crap. Hey, if it can make it around the world, and it can, it's reliable. Maybe an UgLY in the Dakar rally. |

I don't see why we couldn't fab a mounting rack using the passenger peg bracket mounting holes. My 12S has the brackets removed and I'd love to mount a pair of PELICANS to the side. That'd kick ace. There's a guy who makes mounts for most BMW's using PELICAN cases. Not cheap but I think it could be done relatively cheaply. Scrap tubular steel is pretty easy to come by, sounds like somebody has a new project. Anyone else want to join in? NUTS |

>>>>help rid the world of all this Buell unreliability crap. Just out of curiousity. . . tell me about this "crap". If the current crop of Buells are unreliable it certainly is not showing up in folks making warranty claims or purchasing repair parts. The XB's are one of the most reliable motorcycles made....ALL brands included. |

Court, Look at the board, people are always jabbering about that unreliable H-D old tech pushrod POS engine holding back the Buell. |

My bike for sure would not be a fair assessment of Buell's reliability past or present. My bike is pretty much a training tool for my wouldbe, half-ass mechanical tinkering. My bike is fine, I probably need to be recalled. |

Court you totally misunderstood me. I thinks Buells are the finest motorcycles on the planet in terms of reliability and engineering. I have had mine for 10 months and have 7k miles on it with no issues to speak of. I was referring to all the "crap" people talk about them. My intended purpose to Buell doing the around the world trip or Dakar was to PROVE the reliability is there. As I have said before, I am a foot soldier. I carry brochures with the CD in my tank bank to help convert the heathens. You sir were preaching to the choir. (Message edited by darkducati on August 07, 2006) |
