I let a buddy of mine drive the blast around a parking lot for a little while and then around the block. Long story short he dumps it avoiding a cat. He's ok, the bike damage isn't too bad, the only thing i'm not sure about is how to fix the foot peg on the end of the shifter. It completely broke off. How hard is it to replace? Also, the peg broke off right up against the shifter, so even if the peg itself can be replaced I don't think I can get what is left of the old one out. Thanks for the help. |

part# N0549.BA. replacement toepeg kit about $13. The trick, as you said, would be getting the old one out. You can possibly break it loose with a punch and back it out. Or drill it out. Or drill and tap the lever for a new peg (making the shifter a little shorter). Or replace the entire lever with a new one or get a shorter Sportster shift lever. I would pull the lever off the bike before you take any kind of hammer to it or start really wrenching it around. |
