Hey Adam, you'd probably get a quicker answer over on the sponsor board, on the "Dave I need it now" thread. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/17143/73722.html?1153359041 |

Daves, Sorry I am not tying to rain on your parade but EBC pads for 58.00 a set is outrageous. Maybe I am mistaken and the 58.00 is for front and rear? Please tell me it is. If not I would recommend ordering from Chapperal as I can get the exact same pads for less than half the price. 50.00 front and rear! They should have the number for EBC sintered pads there as I took some time and got the info direct from EBC a while back and had Chapperal order them for me. I think the rear pads are right off a Honda Nighthawk.......... Daves, I am not trying to upset you but HD is charging double the price those things really cost. I Think price gouging is wrong (kinda like hundred dollar tire changes). It makes no sense to me that HD pays double the wholesale price for these pads through EBC................. I am sure they get a great price through volume sales. BTW I don't like Chapperal very much but hey money is money! IF the price is for front and rear I would be happy to spend the extra eight dollars with a sponsor instead of those ass hats at chaperral |

that is for stock front pads. I do not know if EBC makes them or not. Do they? I can get EBC pads as well if that is what THE CUSTOMER wants. The EBC pads are 44.95 Lyndall Gold pads are 58.45 |

Daves, EBC makes the stock pads on my 03. I am not sure of other years or models. I do not have a clue about the Lyndalls other than what I have heard but they seem to be priced fairly. I was not trying to chill your sale. I think that the Buell community needs to know when something is "boutique" priced and the same stuff is available outside of a dealership for much less cash. Not saying you have a boutique dealership of course. From what I can tell you are one of the only guys that has commited so much effort towards having parts instock and I think that is commendable! In my mind you are slightly handicapped by working for a dealer |

I would pay more to Dave any day then have to deal with Chapperal, when I raced motocross they screwed me way to many times on orders. Daves gives me a piece of mind and I do not mind helping out a friend and a sponsor of this board. If you do not support the dealer network, then eventually we will all have to order from the large companies that do not know us on a personal level. Daves customer Service is 300%. Plus when the parts come I know they are correct, and if not he takes care of it quickly. |

Isn't the OEM pads better than the EBCs? |

They were the exact pads that were on muy bike when I bought it with 2000 miles on it. I would like to try out the Lyndalls but am pinching pennies for a while. As for Chapperal? They are less then 15 miles from me and that is the only reason I have spent ANY money there. They are the Walmart of motorcycles. The attitude and lack of "quality" brands is stunning. They do have about 6,875 different colors of offroad body armor though! (snicker snicker). As for supporting the sponsors goes? I am all for it. I wish Daves was in my area as I hate my local dealers. If and when I have to buy any expensive HD parts the order will go to him. Al at American Sport Bike is going to get as much of my business as I can though as he did me more than right recently. Over the last 2 years I have spent no money I did not have to though. Sucks because I drool over Al's carbon stuff all the time. Not much longer now........... |

The OEM pads are Nissin. The EBC front pads are FA 345 HH; they stop better, are cheaper, last 5 times longer and don't spew brake dust everywhere. It's a no-brainer. |

The EBC are f@#cking scary when it comes to initial bite compared to the stockers. They also have very unpredictable and certainly nowhere near linear heat vs performance characteristics. Some like that but I am not a fan. I have found OEM to be a good medium. |
