I received my Select seat today (thanks daves) and I noticed the leather lifting a bit from the foam/gel whatever is inside... is this normal? Check out the pic, thanks.

Doesn't look normal to me.
My select seat doesn't do that.

Yeah, that does not look right. I would return it for a new one. I'm sure Daves will take care of you, just ask him.

Just received mine yesterday and it looks the same as the pic above. Will a hair dryer help it or make it worse, or should I just return it for an exchange?? What a PITA!!

Purple_people_eater's (Toni's) seat doesn't look like that. I'd be sending it back.

Mines doing that in the vee in the passenger section. First one I got from Daves came like that and he replaced it for a new one that was good. But now it has lifted up again. Seems like there is a problem with the manufacturing process.

Ferrolano, I doubt a hair dyer would fix it, just looks like bad adhesive or something... yes its a huge pain PITA.

Sh!t, and I was going to purchase a Select, but now you guys have got me thinking twice.
I think I'll have to go for a custom Corbin instead. Had one on another bike & it was the best seat I'd ever used. I really liked the looks of the Select though.

Yeh, i hope the replacement stays nice. I just sat on the select seat for a minute before i took it off my bike and packaged it up to send back... feels pretty comfy.

the corbin seats for the s models weight a ton compared to all the factory seats....i couldnt believe the weight difference...it seems to me that corbin uses a thick (not to pretty looking) fiberglass base instead of a plastic molded one as the factory seats...i too would like to get the select seat once they correct these issues...

Corbins are heavy, but they are bullet proof too. A Corbin's pan will last forever, never warp or change shape. With as hot as it gets under factory plastic pan, you can actually change the shape of the factory pan over time as well.

I have sat on a select seat, right next to my corbin, and prefer Corbin support over soft Select padding for sure.

But these are just my observations/opinions

That does not look right.
I got one of the first ones and after 4K miles it still looks like new. No lift or stretch or anything of the sort.

I would return that one.

I have a select seat as well and love it. My last seat was a low profile one so this seat is a HUGE step up. Mine hasn't lifted, but there is a very small spot on the front right corner starting to wear. Almost looks like it rubbed up against something rough but I can't figure out what. Other than that no lifting in 1500 miles.
