OK folks I think there may be some others with similar problems related to the electric fuel pump. Mine has a problem with the pressure switch or the pressure regulator. Before starting the engine, key on, then the run/kill switch on the right handle control to the run position should cause the fuel pump to run until it reaches pressure then it should shut off.

Mine keeps running but loaded down against the pressure.

I did the fuel injector test as specified in the manual to make sure it wasn't a pressure loss in the fuel rail causing the pump to continue to run and the injectors were not leaking.

Next, I tried switching back to the stock ECM since I have the race ECM on it now, and the fuel pump still did the same thing so that eliminates the ECM as being the problem.

So I checked the electrical schematic to see where the pressure switch is located and could not find it. So it must be internal to the fuel pump.

The bike still runs fine but I suspect the fuel pump will fail eventually since it runs continuously under load.

I have an appointment with my dealer for diagnostics on the fuel pump and to get the recall done on the kick stand. I'm also going to have them replace the primary cover because the charcoal cannister (CA models only) has slipped on it's mount and resting on the primary cover has rubbed the paint off the cover...

I tried to explain the fuel pump issue to the dealer but he refuses to order a new pump until he does the diagnostic testing himself...

I hope this doesn't keep my bike down while he's waiting on the new part..It is my primary mode of transportation......

I have 11,000 miles on the bike now and I can't imagine any other ride as good as this one is. I absolutely love this bike!

The service is somewhat lacking in my opinion though. I always service my own bikes for that reason and rarely ever have a problem that I can't resolve myself. I just can't see replacing a $300 fuel pump myself when the bike is still under warranty.
