Nasty, Does your browser save passwords for other sites? If so, I'd think it would do it for here too. I use mozilla and it saves my log-ins. It gets a little busy at time because it seems to want to offer me log-ins more often than necessary as I go from one topic to another. But it is easier to choose a log-in from a pop up list than it is to type one in. Jack |

I am saying that you shouldn't have to log in every time you want to post. I am hoping it can be set-up or there is already a way like every other message board I am on and you can log in once and post all you want. |

Nasty73z, If you enable cookies and leave them undeleted via your user profile, the board will recognize you when you visit and you can avoid having to fill in your username and pw everytime. Most browsers also offer this as a built-in feature too. |

Clarification: Check your user profile preference settings and enable/disable applicable cookie settings. Sparky, I'm not seeing the same issue. Can you send me a screen shot? I think I know what you are describing though. I have customized the text for some thread titles and sometimes the board converts that from the board format tags into html and then the board software doesn't recognize it in that field. Or something like that. I've had to re-edit a few titles and re-enter the desired formatting in Discus formatted tags in place of the html. But right now, the titles for the threads you mention are appearing fine for me, so it may be a browser specific issue. I use MSIE. |

Blake, Is there any way to subscribe to a thread? I am going to be getting a Uly when I get home, and I have seen a lot of good information on here that I will want to know about it, (kickstand issues, driving light recommendations, etc.) but I'm not sure I'll be able to find them 6 or 8 weeks from now. I could, I suppose, set up a bunch of bookmarks to the applicable threads. If I do that, will the URLs remain the same, even after they are moved to the archive? If so, that will solve my problem. If not, well, it would be nice to be able to subscribe to particular threads. Thanks! Sean |

Sean, You can designate down to the first subtopic level for emailing of board posts. This is available via your user profile settings under the Email Notifications section. Just click on the "Choose" button next to the applicable main topic(s) and then select the subtopic(s) of your choice. Then click on any of the "Save Profile Changes" buttons. Each new post to your selected subtopic(s) will be sent to your email address, the one you used when you registered for participation on BadWeB. Please be careful with your subtopic selections for email notifications. It isn't too difficult to end up with a flooded, over-quota mailbox. URLs do indeed remain the same after archiving. So you have two options to solve your problem. |

Update: Sparky clarified via email that he was referring to the browser window title. I see the same problem. Will put its resolution on our list. Browser window titles apparently don't accept formatting. Should be an easy fix. Thanks Sparky! |

Blake, Cool, thanks. I guess I will just bookmark all of the threads. Also, I just noticed on a recent post in the quickboard that the word "a-holes" properly written out is not filtered, however the singular of the same word is. You might want to either filter the pluralized form or unfilter the singular form. Sean |

Thanks Sean. Ebear, It pains me more than you can imagine, especially with the FX race now on the schedule at Laguna Seca, but mostly because I had such a wonderful time last year. Alas, Michele's vacation window is a bit restricted this year and we are taking off on four wheels for a two week tour with some camping, hiking and visits with family and friends, Even a stop in DC. Will plan to be back next year for sure. Thanks for your generously kind words. I'll be look forward to returning home and reading all about the weekend and of course seeing all the great photos. I may not be back on the internet until two weeks after the race weekend, so don't put yourself out in order to post late into the evening during the weekends festivities. Raise a beer and speak my name in good humor and have a great time; all my best to everyone there. I'll do my best to consolidate all the current Laguna threads into one on the Storm Fronts page, or at least post links in the header to those that reside elsewhere. |

Agreed. Until then, please do the next best thing and cut and paste original listing with updates to a new post on the same page. |

That reminds me of when on the old - we're talking 1998 timeframe - Bikini Bike forum on www.motorcycle.com where the word "petcock" would be transformed by an overzealous profanity filter into "petrooster", Thesaurus says that "cant", "tilt", "angle", "shift", and "crook" might work. But hey, we can type petcock." That is funny; thanks for sharing that and for having a sense of humor about it. |

U4euh - A project that I was going to undertake, and obviously haven't yet, was to call everyone on that list and see if the contact info is still good and if they are still willing to help. I figured I could do one state a day and be done with it in 2 months. |

I've looked at it too and I honestly believe it's a bit overwhelming for one person (one person who has to work, family commitments, ride time, etc, etc, etc,) to complete. The RAN is a very valuable asset and we, the collective we, need to keep it as up to date as possible. I'm open to suggestions on the specifics of how we can do this. Please advise. G2 |

G2 - It would be good if this data was maintained in some form other than a webpage. The webpage could be generated from this master data whenever it was updated. Also, it would be nice to have an HTML form for adding/deleting yourself to the list, rather than posting to the thread. It would also be helpful to have the date the entry was added appear on the page. That would give you a hint as to whether the entry was still valid. I'm certainly willing to help with coding this. But I suspect you know more about this than I. |

I'm home with Luke all day. We have unlimited long distance on our phone service. I could start making calls. It may take a month, but I think it would be well worth it. Would you want the info passed to you, or is there a way I could be granted access just to make the necessary updates? |
