Looks like they are both doing well. This shows how many bikes Buell is kicking out the door. http://news.moneycentral.msn.com/provider/providerarticle.asp?feed=PR&Date=20060 717&ID=5869578 |

Looks pretty good, revenue and sales up substantially. Certainly goes to show that all the naysayers predicting Buells demise and everyone saying Buell needs to build different bikes 'casue the current lineup is not good enough are missing the point |

A 19% increase in production/shipments compared to the same 6 months from last year. Excellent! Way to go Buell! |

Buell will have to come out with something new and unusual by next year at this time otherwise it will all be old news. I for one wish they'd take that engine from their RR and pop it in the ULY. I believe it utilizes a shorter stroke and it is much more powerful. A Cycleworld tester said the heat coming off the engine darn near set his arm afire. Personally I'd rather they drop the bike some by putting the muffler up under the seat like a Ducati. I figure the bike is as tall as it is because of the depth of that muffler. I'm used to the tallness but it'd be nice if it were shorter. Taking foam out of the seat only gets your ass closer to being set on fire and it bends your legs a little more. |

ElectraGlider, Take a look at the video on the Buell site of Erik Buell talking about putting the muffler under the bike. You are not going to see any mufflers mounted Ducati Style on Buells.... to quote Erik "because they're just WRONG!" He says that with quite a bit of conviction. BTW, you can see the underslung exhaust showing up on a few Japanese models this year. The underslung exhaust has some compelling advantages and I don't think that Buell will giving it up at all. I don't think that you have to worry about Buell coming up with something else "new and unusual" in the future. Buell motorcycles are pretty much always unusual. Happy Trails, WindRider |

Plus the Big Twins are getting 6 speeds and 96 cubic inches. I think I'll buy some stock in HDI, looks like another good year is coming. |

I've held the stock since 1987. Has done very well. |
