How should I re-break in my motor. I had 9600 miles on my xbs and had the base gaskets replaced. The rings were also replaced. How should I rebreak in the motor? |

What did they say the cause of the base gasket leak was? Mine is seeping oil now. Someone on this board said it is from driving hard without being fully warmed up. |

Spatten, They didnt say what caused it. They just took her in and did the work. Mine seaped and I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS let mine warm up for 4-5 mins idle and the ride very easy till she completely warms up. I think it just the nature of some of these beasts. Spatten if your is still underwarranty I wouldnt accept theyre response for what caused yours to seap if you let yours warm up. |

My rear base leaked at approx 10k miles. I alway warmed it up too. I make sure to take it easy until I'm at least 5 miles down the road now. No problems since. |
