Welcome aboard Jim. All you probably need is your GA ticket and a sleeping bag. SteveB's gonna catch zzz's under the Love Shack if I caught his drift, so there's one possibility. |

Jim, You need to check with Ebear.. crashing under the love shack is probably fine, I think there are a couple folks doing that, but there is a lot of space there. But the problem may be # of bikes on the site, not sleep space. You may need to purchase a support vehicle pass. Al |

All the above is true....a few people have bailed so with LUCK everybody will have space for tents....But YOU MUST GET YOUR GEAR TO US THIS WEEKEND OR AT LATEST MONDAY NIGHT!!!}If theres a chance you will be under the Loveshack bring both a one and a standard tent.So if theres room you can use the standard one outside..Once "Support Vehicle Passes" are designated the remainder of the bikes parking overnight will need to purchase a pass. These are $50.00 and cover 2 Motorcycles. We will designate on the back of these passes what bikes they cover , so when the "Parking Gestapo" show up(they are all ex-prison guards)they will be able to tow away non-pass protected bikes}(OK , i'm kidding on that one!)}Have some cash on you if your in need of these passes as we never no when they will show up.} |

NEXT TOPIC....Donations....We have been asked often about donating to the cause and we DO appreciate THIS!!!In past years Jerry (and a few others) have absorbed huge costs to make this happen. We would like to see that Jerry doesn't try to take on the fuel ,propane ,and related Loveshack delivery costs of past. Therefore there will be a donation jar this year placed prominently inside the 5th Wheel. He has objected in the past but thats the kind of guy he is.....We will help out this year and all monies donated will be extremely appreciated! We will be looking for volunteers to run to the store which won't be easy considering that very few vehicles will be allowed onsite. All help and concerns in these matters will be organized or answered by Jerry ,Eric or Al.Members whom consistently attend the Meetings will not be expected to donate. You have already donated graciously through our raffles and paid the cost of a spot. The remainder of the money in our treasury has been spent on 2 Paddock Passes that will be on loan and on food upon our arrival in Salinas Wednesday night. |

That's an accuracity. . . I am about to put down a several thousand dollar bet on the table that we'll have 50 folks. If it looks like we'll not coming close, we'll start earlier next year. |

Courtney, We also had the man himself advertised way in advance. The faithful knew who they were going to be having dinner with. By my mind, it's not too late to get this thing off the ground. There's gotta be that many interested. Last year the Buell package was irresistable too, despite some complaining. That undoubtedly brought out some Buellers. Keep your thumb in the wind as long as you can Court before you cancel. Or just trim the bash down some and make it more casual. Hope things turn out well. Jon |

I would love to participate in the dinner invitation so put me down for 2 people. Me and my Beemer riding compadre, and since he is staying with me at the hotel I don't think he has a choice in where I want to eat. That's saturday night right? |

Good morning guys, I've traded emails with Ebear as recommended and I'm set up for the camping if I can figure out a way in the gate. Unfortunately Laguna Seca won't mail me a ticket (they stopped doing that on the 7th), and Will Call is only open as follows: NOTE: NO WILL CALL AT THE ADMISSION GATES. Orders placed after that date will be held at Embassy Suites Hotel (Will Call Location), 1441 Canyon Del Rey, Seaside. Photo identification required to pick up tickets at will call. Will call opens Thursday, July 20 -Sunday, July 23. Will Call hours are Thursday-Saturday, 6am-5pm and Sunday, 6am-Noon. Realistically I won't get to Monterey much before 6pm Saturday. Arrgghh. So..... I may just give up on the Saturday evening festivities and ride up Sunday morning (I figure 3.5 hours from SB if I don't waste any time). Or ride up Saturday night and stop in some place like King City and grab a Motel 6 kinda place or whatever. Anyone have a good idea on a way around this? Or anyone have a Sunday only ticket they will sell me? I have cash... Or anyone cancel out that wants to sell a ticket? I tried to call the track, after being on hold for an hour I gave up. I know, this is what happens when I decide too late in the game to go to the races... <g> Jim in Santa Barbara |

Hey, I could buy a ticket, pick it up at Will-Call, meet you at Bubba Gump's on Cannery Row, exchange ticket for face value, but it'll cost ya. Oh ya, I'd have to clear it with the book-keeper, I mean the boss, I mean my co-rider, I mean my wife, Jen. Know what I mean? Sparky |

Hi Sparky, That sounds like a bargain! I was trying to get one off of Craig's List (not to save money, to avoid the hassle of getting a ticket) but no joy so far. Most are for sale in the Bay Area. Let me know if that's okay with your CFO. Jim in Santa Barbara |

For those riding up there - ride safe, and hopefully we'll meet up with you over the weekend ...can you guess how much gear she's carrying on her CityX Cheers -Jack |

Hi Bert, I'm good to go! Ticket in hand, the Ulysses is fueled up and I just did an oil change. 616's look ready! My plan is to leave SB @ 2pm on Saturday, 154 to 101 to US 1 then ride up the coast (to pretty to miss, eh?). I'm going to head straight to Cannery Row and look for Sparky and the gang. Hope to see you there. Have a great ride up. Jim in SB |

Wow. What a weekend. I got up there Saturday night and Monterey was a motorcycle zoo. The ride up US 1 along the coast was spectacular. Cool temps, sunny skies, gorgeous views. Since I was traveling alone traffic was easily overtaken at suitable opportunities. Hooked up with the Badweb group at the Corkscrew around 9pm. In short - track was fantastic, crowds were fantastic, weather was sunny & hot, racing was awesome. Television does not do the Corkscrew justice. I spent half the race standing right there at the top and I thought Nicky was better through there than any of the riders. Amazing stuff. It must be very challenging to ride that at race pace. Several riders struggled with it. I enjoyed meeting all the Badweb folks. Then I think we were joined by pit crew members from Jeremy McWilliams' team. Anyway, nice guys, we enjoyed talking to them. I zoomed out of there with Fireman Jim and right behind Al on Sunday for the long trek home. It was HOT coming back down the 101 - for example it was 115 in Paso Robles when I went through there. Yowza. Fortunately my Uly and it's fan ran well. Anyway, great weekend, loads of fun, albeit with a very toasty ride home. Thanks to all, Jim in Santa Barbara |

Darn hot is not the word...IT WAS FREAKIN HOT! On Saturday afternoon the track lowered the price of water from $4 to $1 just to get people to stay hydrated. I could have fried an egg on my arm. Thanks again to Jerry Johnson and Ebear (and co-sponser Al aka American Sportbike) for getting all this together. The Love Shack endured major wear and tear this weekend, as many huddled inside under the A/C vent to catch a moment of cool air. I left on Sunday AM as I could not endure another day in that heat. The early AM drive down Hwy. 1 past Big Sur was great! But once I left Morro Bay, it was an oven again all the way to LA. Santa Barbara was so humid and hot it rained on me twice. It was great seeing everyone again and meeting new folks. Thanks to Ebear and his Brother-n-law Carl for a great day of Santa Cruz Mt. riding on Friday. The views and roads were great. Next year is now less than a year away! Scott |

Yep. I'm already thinking about next year. I have this old beater RV with all the accoutrements of home... And it would be nice to go home on Monday so I wouldn't have to abstain on Sunday. Geez, I could even toss my DRZ on the back for "ship to shore" transportation. Hmmm... Jim in Santa Barbara |

Hey everyone. Leah, Jarred, and I made it home last night. Man the A/C in that truck never felt so good, even if I could feel my M2 giving me a dirty look from back there; I think she would rather have been riding than sitting in the back of that truck. We all had a great time. Huge thanks to Jerry, E-Bear and Al for spending so much time and effort for everyone. The weekend was exactly what the doctor ordered (no, not THE Doctor), because as I type Jarred is bringing home a brand new motorcycle from the dealership. Sorry about the V-Strom Jerry, he went with an SV instead. He had his eye on it for a long time but needed a push... It was good to see everyone, the Love Shack was packed with old friends and cool new people all weekend. There were a few conspicuous absences, but I guess I understand... The racing was great, awesome top 10 Buell finish by Jeremy and the Boys from Warrs. They even stopped by the Shack to hang out and sign posters and stuff for us. Leah went to get me a frame for mine. Good Show. My camera was broken and I have not gotten the few pictures I took off of my phone yet. Where are you pro photo- types??? I am already working on a who do I know / what club do I have to join, to get into a hospitality area next year. I went into Monterey on Saturday evening - HA - fat chance getting into there. Mild first degree burns on my inner thighs from cooling fan during the stop and go traffic. Finally had to say forget it and went back to Salinas to eat dinner with a couple extra shot margaritas. What kind of engines do Moto GP run and why do they sound so different. Are they v-fours firing two at a time or what? Oh well, next year. |

The moto GP engines have different configurations and they play around with firing orders to create a smooth power pulse "footprint" to the rear wheel for traction. Did you wear ear plugs? |

What did you say? I can't hear you, I watched the Moto GP race from the front straight so I could make a quick getaway when it ended. 3:05 and I was on my bike and headed out of there. No problem with traffic either day when I left. |

I'll second that, Jack. Jen & I savored every day of our "camping" getaway. We were not about to pass up a riding/camping trip tradition with our Bueller friends at Laguna. I gotta say it's pretty cool of Ebear, Jerry, Al & others putting their heads together and allowing us SCAB, BRAG & BadWeb Buellers access to great camping sites and possibly the greatest viewing spot on the track, the veranda of the Love Shack! It was great meeting some of the NorCal Buellers, riding with Ebear's & Jerry's friends, seeing the XBRR finish a race placing well, watching Nicky win again, and a special treat being visited by Jeremy McWilliams and his crew. Thanks all, Sparky |
