What did I start? Thanks for all the help guys, after routing the clutch cable the proper way per instructions, I don't like the bend so I am going to drill and re-route it and use a grommet to seal the hole. It will look clean. |

Ray its cool. See ya said what you said,it was wrong I came back and did the same back at ya in a matter,it was wrong...two wrongs doesn't make a right. I stopped, thought about what I was doing and explained to you what I thought was wrong and you recognized it and apologized. So now I apologize to you as well for saying what I did. We are two adults about the same age and we should act as it. |

Yeah Dana, you know when you first join a forum, it's tempting to try and criticize and ridicule people you don't know. But when you've been around awhile you start to develop a sense of community. I pushed your buttons, so your reaction is understandable. No apology is needed. It's kinda like when your a kid and you get in a scrap with the new kid on the block who is trying to prove himself by challenging the incumbents... anyway, they end up being "blood brothers" in the end. So let's get the dirty dull pocket knife out, scratch our skin, and bind our wrists... ha ha... you know what I mean. |

I also have Crossroads down bars on my 2003 XB9S, but the routing and that first hard bend of the clutch cable made it require a second person to help pull it in, so I installed a Maguara Jack hydraulic clutch on her and it is a dream to pull and the hose is routed down under the bars through the same hole! PS: Maguara makes great stuff, but they suck at directions to install it! Let me know if you want pics of my config! |

Hey Dana- Did you use your original Lightning clutch cable to route through your mod? I've heard that it works better if you use the Firebolt clutch cable. Apparently the Firebolt cable is shorter. I've been considering doing the same mod to my clutch cable, too. I'm not having issues with it now, but I want to avoid any future problems. |

Brad I'm using the Lightning cable. Lubed the crap out of it and the pull is pretty nice. |
