It's definately not the best helmet out there imo, but I use one, for the price it fits comfortably (better then my CL14)and I think its a good looking helmet....Just has too much wind noise and my visor pops up every once in a while....

I have an older AC10. They are just ok. If HJC would put about $20.00 in better parts on it they would be really good. Wind noise is kind of loud. Shield doesn't open or close like a Shoei. One side is alway up or down. I think the shield is to thin in plastic. Vents work on. The catch strap is kind of hard to use.

Just break down and by a Shoei. You wond regreat it..

gearheart here on badweb is a friend of mine, and he was not impressed with the quality
of the H-D branded C-F ac12 he bought a year or so ago. It was nice at first, but the
fact it is not a top tier helmet became more obvious as the miles added up. These kind of
observations are things that won't pop up in most magazine tests.

Thanks for the feedback, I know its not top tier and thats ok with me as long as it will last a year or so and be reasonably comfortable.

Is the KBC Force, or VR2,3 a better choice?

depends on your head on the KBC's. the Force fits my head perfectly, the vr2 is
more round and puts pressure on my forehead.

Just to throw this into the mix but what about the CS-15?

u know what .. i have had 3 helmets in last year .. here's the thing.

:: buell branded kbc == crap! interior padding soon compressed leaving me w/ a loose fit.

::kbc-vr2 == great fit for a few weeks .. quiet noisy & when chking under/over shoulder for liter bikes at mid/end of striaght at abt 130mph, visor tends to lift. also, mists up at barest of opportunities - which relly sucks on track when sun is low .. very dangerous .. but has under chin air barrier, so no bugs up nostrils. poor ventilation.

survived face plant into asphalt w/ barely a scratch .. visor popped out & i had to get new fitting .. visor is scratched, but i can't afford more helmets ..now its getting loose .. i work out & its a hottish summer here, so perhaps i am losing some weight .. but on my 'head'??!! got this lid coz racer recommended it first hand .. its a 3-shell design (3 diff size shells, so better fit typically) most lids are 2 shell (large & small & padding is adjusted to fit.

::my *chick riding pillion* lid is an hjc ac12 .. i got it in small .. now i use it half the time, while i air the vr2.

i find the hjc a snug fit, non-removable insides, so BAD for warm weather or racey riding, as it'll start to smell like ass! ;)

its quieter than the kbc vr2 by a LONG shot, tho larger shell & heavier.

a good general or back up helmet.

good ventilation.

::next helmet wil be agv ti .. rossi rep.

What about the Fulmer helmets? I was at a dealer last week looking at the Buell Asphalt helmet, and I was steered towards a Fulmer helmet. I actually liked it, as I'm looking for a flat black helmet with a gold visor, but I had never heard of them until then.
