i am re-torquing my flywheel this weekend. there is a harley tool that basicly is a piece of flat stock steel.goes from one sprocket to the other to hold it in place while re-torquing. my question is does anyone know the length of this piece. i will make one as i work in the metals business. just need a rough measurement so i can cut a piece of steel and i can always grind a little off at home if needed. thanks alot guys!

Hey,Eric,they've revised the torque spec.
It is now somewhere around 210 lb/ft and most of our standard wrenches only go up to 150 lb/ft. I'm sure someone here will chime in regarding the new value.It was posted recently on the main page here as a banner.Be aware.

Yep,in the "Knowledge vault" under drivetrain,and primary chain.Most of us don't have one of those bigger torque wrenches.

thanks guys got what i needed. just for reference i made the tool to hold the flywheels from turning while re-torquing.
i cut a piece of aluminum bar 4-1/8" X 2" X 1/4" w/ chamfered ends to hold them. should work schweeet. the new torque value is 240-260 ft.lbs.

Don't use steel. It may be hard enough to damage the sprocket teeth it wedges against - use alumninum or another material softer than steel.

yes steel would be a poor thing to use. i was once again "speaking before thinking"

i don't know if they will cover me on this Scoobytwo. i don't think the agrivation is worth it. they will most likely ask me to drop it off..keep it for god knows how long and give it back w/ some sort of fu*@ up.loose bolts,no oil,etc..etc.. and if not that they will do the usual warrenty bull crap of it's a buell not covered because...i don;t know it don't have a/c or something.(read fine print).. my bike isn't "stock" anyways and they will look at it all confused and i don't really like others working on my stuff. you know my modow..."let someone else fix your bike and expect someone else to screw it up". i guess i have no faith in harley mechanics working on my stuff. i just got a cover off a bwb. so i will have it together soon enough and i bet it will still be quicker than a shop fixing it.

how much can the clutch basket have before it goose out off round ?

just asking ;)

after 42ooo km and 6x removal off the primaire my chain is to bad to adjust,
on one place good and 4" furder down the chain way to loose...
and i know for sure that there's play on the basket needle bearing,
but there's no refferance in the manual how to measure it ?

i may just change the clutch also while i'm in there. any good clutches out there that others have tried w/ good results?

Eric, i know you're already doing this yourself and i don't know who your dealer is but... if you use Sheldons they've already done mine. it came loose and they knew about the issue/bulletin.

Any dealer will do it under warranty. Any engine/drivetrain problems are part of your warranty.
