I have a 97 m2 and want to know if the newer M2s' are exact exchange fitment with the tank and tail. I think 99 is when they changed the swing arm and stuff |

Tank is a straight swap, no issues other than if you have aftermarket handlebars that might run into interference issues with the wider tank. The tail swap may not be exact, but is very simple. Actually I think the only issue is when mounting a '97/'98 tail onto a '99+ Cyclone; the fuse block on the newer models requires an access cutout in the top of the tail section where the older models do not. Simple solution is to cut out the access required in the older tail section. But going from '97/'98 to the newer/larger tail section should be a straight swap. You are correct on the date of change being 1999. |

The seats are also different, they correspond to the tail. For example, if you're going to swith Tails from 97 to 99, you would need the seat too. (Message edited by jayvee on June 30, 2006) |
