Ok so I dont know how to do a wheelie! I want to know how because I just about flipped over today and it scared the crap out of me, so I figure if I know how to do a wheelie I can also prevent/prepair for it. I have an 05 XB12R i am in my 40`s so no I am not going stunt riding i just want to know how. Red |

I can only do predictablt wheelies in 1st and 2nd gear. Burp the throttle and lean back a little, then once you feel it "lift off" ease off the throttle a little bit. Avoid giving alot of throttle after compressing the front forks if you are trying to avoid a wheelie.. or dropping the clutch for that matter. |

Just cruis at around 3k and just blip the gas and flick the clutck a little and get useto the small stuff then once ur comfterable flick the clutch harder and harder and more gas till ur up to the balance point. Remember always get ur foot covering the rear break. once u do get it up practice grabbin that rear break so u can get useto control. U never know when ur gonna go back too much that easin up on the throttle wont bring u back down, tap that rear and ull come right back down... another pointer is always when coming back down leave enough rpms to matt it about 2ft off the ground so u come down smooth instead of bottoming out and needing fork seals. |

"Get a used dirtbike you don't have much love for! Practice practice practice" You can't make an omelet without breaking some eggs. In the process of learning to wheelie on a dirtbike, I've flipped over a few times, one time going pretty fast. In the dirt you just get up, brush yourself off and try again (sometimes you do lay there for a little while, though...). |
