I am currently shopping for an XB12R, but my local dealer is out until the 07's land. Just wondering what the differences are from say 2004 to current models if any. I have ridden the 06' and loved it. Cannot wait to get my hands on one. I have been riding sport bikes for years and have been riding a Ducati 916 for the past 5 years. I have been looking for something that had the power and handling of my 916, but wasn't quite so aggressive in riding position, not to mention being more mechanically reliable would be a plus. I loved my 916 and would consider another, but I just love all the original designs that have gone into the XB platform. After doing what research I've done, I have to have one. Please let me know if there is any major changes over the last few years if there are any. I'm not concerned if they ran D207's one year and D208's the next, but if there was a change in fuel injection or something along those lines, I'd really like to hear some opinions on it. Thanks in advance, Jim |

The '04s and '05s are the same but the '06 has a redesigned swingarm and rear hugger, different air intake, improved gearbox, lighter pull clutch and 0.5 litre larger fuel capacity. |

I think that the '06 also has a large diameter front fork. Went from 41 to 43mm, if I remember correctly. |

They actually made that suspension change for the '05 model year, and it does not apply to "low" models. |
