In 2008 I attended the Homecoming and had an opportunity to meet Eric Buell and tour the factory. Now that Buell is back in production I was wondering if there are any plans to create a Homecoming for 2012? Or, might there be some interest in attending if some of us took the effort to organize one? I don't want to offend anyone if there is one already scheduled. Maybe it could be at the same time as a race. |

It has not been scheduled yet . . . but there will certainly be a HOMECOMING 2012. For planning purposes . . . keep an eye on the AMA race weekend at Road America. That, since the last 1980's, has been when it's traditionally taken place. Next year will be another exciting one . . . I'm thinking.

I started thinking about HC2012 about June 6. Serious discussions will probably start during the winter doldrums. |

When discussions begin, I would be very willing to help out in whatever way possible. I can't think of a better event than to enjoy first hand that Eric is back in business. Is Erik Buell Racing in the same facility that Buell occupied on Buell Drive? |

I have lived overseas for the last 3 years and before that I was not aware of Buell. I now live in Indiana so I am most def in for a 2012 event. I am even willing to maybe help with a free campsite overnight for traveling Buellers from far away. |

I am in South Bloomington, near lake Monroe, I'm in a condo now but should be in a real place by February. My friend has a property that can host one or two tents at the least. Erik autographed a derby cover for me and sent a very nice handwritten note to me overseas last year, I would love to thank him in person. |

Last year we started in East Troy and meandered up to Elkhart Lake for the AMA races. (No, it's not a bunch of doctors running around a track...) Watch this space. |

A much more active discussion of HC2012 is happening under a general Quick Board thread: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=4062&post=2192790#POST2192790 |

I have been following the two threads on the HC and have been able to gather the following: (I am sure I missed a great deal.) 1. The dates are from May 31 (Thursday)to June 3rd (Sunday) 2. The HC will end at the track at the track on Sunday 3rd. 3. Possible gatherings for "how-to" on Thursday - Friday in the East Troy area? Is there a central hotel in East Troy where people will stay or restaurant where a people will have dinner? Is there a tour or other event at Buell on Friday? I assume they will be busy at the track on Saturday. Is there an organized event at the track Friday, Saturday or Sunday? Just trying to find out what is going on. Thanks, |

I have been following the two threads on the HC and have been able to gather the following: (I am sure I missed a great deal.) 1. The dates are from May 31 (Thursday)to June 3rd (Sunday) Some will be coming to East Troy earlier, but most will come on Thursday. 2. The HC will end at the track at the track on Sunday 3rd. Not sure, but the major migration up North will probably be Friday afternoon 3. Possible gatherings for "how-to" on Thursday - Friday in the East Troy area? Right. There is always impromptu tire kicking at the hotel and at Gus' Burgers. Two_seasons, of Two_seasons Garage will be around on Thursday and after the races on Sunday. Is there a central hotel in East Troy where people will stay or restaurant where a people will have dinner? Most people are staying at Alpine Valley Resort or the campground whose name OurDee can tell you. Dinner at Roma's on Thursday night, time not established. See signup sheet on the other thread. Is there a tour or other event at Buell on Friday? I assume they will be busy at the track on Saturday. We're not planning a factory event, other than gathering in the parking lot Thursday morning. We may be surprised. Is there an organized event at the track Friday, Saturday or Sunday? As far as I know, nothing is organized at the track. You may have observed that this is completely consistent with the rest of HC ! |
