We'll be there if the weather holds out, getting ready to call them here in a bit. Along with the Harley Shootout tonight, there is another real cool racing series going on at the same time for the RGN (Regional Grand National) series. RGN consists of 10 different motorcycle races on dirt, road, track, you name it! Round 1 was the Azzy Hare Scramble, Round 2 the Atwater TT, and tonight is Round 3 which is the Drag Racing so be ready for an added bonus for the racing tonight...as there are added bonus points for the challenge of racing all the events on one bike! Swing by Wes's trailer, we'll be there for both!!! Hope to see some of you out there (pending weather!!!!) Leah |

(Wes Undercover....) Congrats guys on the racing!!!! Awesome job Fiery! Can't wait to match up with you at the grove!!! We had a pretty good race week/weekend as well. Went down to Putnam for the 3 hour Fastrax endurance event and won the lightweight class on the XB9, then did the AHRMA national at Gingerman and won Formula 2 Twins on the XB12 (on bridgestones wich worked awesome....). Leah had a good weekend going until she clipped the curbing and lowsided on the XB9 in the Battle of twins F3 race and got her hand trapped between the frame and the ground, ala Shawn Higbee. Damaged her pinky finger pretty severely (two dislocation and a severe hamburgering). has to see a hand surgeon on tuesday. She seems to be in good spirits (could be the vicadin) but is bummed out about not being able to ride. We will drag her out to Union grove for sure next time...maybe she can ride two up with fiery. |

a nice note from PJ - with an extra special mention to coolice and fiery - go Paul!!! D "Dear Sponsors, Family and Friends, Four race weekends. Four different race tracks. Four personal best lap times. Three wins and 13 podiums. The 2006 season is off to a great start for James Gang Racing. At the season opener at Daytona, I qualified on the second row for the American SportBike Racing Association (ASRA) Thunderbike main event. I got a great start, got run off the track (when defending series champion Dave Estok lost his clutch and checked up) and still managed to hang on and ride to a personal best 5th place ASRA national finish. I also finished 6th in a competitive field for the Championship Cup Series Thunderbike race, missing 5th by 6/100ths of a second at the line. Note to self: Don’t pull out too early in the draft at Daytona. On to Road America, another ASRA national event, but also the start of the Championship Cup Series Midwest regional series, where again I had a great weekend. Teammate John Fox and I won the ASRA GT Lights Team Challenge endurance race and finished 7th overall. Not bad considering we only entered the race at the last minute to get some extra track time. I wrapped up the weekend with two podiums and three top 5s in the CCS sprint races, and a 10th place finish in the ASRA Thunderbike race. Blackhawk Farms hosted the next round of the ASRA Team Challenge series as well as the CCS Midwest series, so John and I teamed up again and once again won the GT Lights class (6th overall). I almost forgot how much I enjoy endurance racing, and we’ll do a few more rounds of the ASRA series just for fun. I also scored three second place and two third place finishes in the CCS sprint races. Mid-America was the next stop on the CCS Midwest region, with the date moved up from the traditional hot as blazes 4th of July weekend, to Memorial Weekend. And guess what? It’s still hot there in May. Upper 90s temperatures and a strong south wind combined to make the racing conditions challenging. Still, I set not only my personal best lap times, but the best lap times of any lightweight class racer on the weekend and won the CCS Thunderbike race. I also scored three other podium finishes in all-out dog fights with Ed Key and Brian Lacy. Any time you can beat Mr. Ed Key in the dry, you know you’ve done something. And Brian was faster than Ed there, so it felt great beating both of them. I couldn’t have had this much success without your support and words of encouragement, thank you. And a special thank you to my mechanic/crew chief and friend Mike Kirkpatrick (and his girlfriend Nancy). Mike has worked hard to develop and maintain my bikes and enable me to focus on my riding. I think the results speak for themselves. Paul James CCS/ASRA # 70 2006 Points (as of May 29): Midwest Region CCS SuperTwins: Paul James (Buell) Brian Lacy (Duc) Joseph Lee (Duc) Thunderbike Ed Key (Suz) Paul James (Buell) Brian Lacy (Duc) Lightweight Superbike: Ed Key (Suz) Paul James (Buell) Scott Carey (Duc) GT Lights Ed Key (Suz) Brian Lacy (Duc) Paul James (Buell) I’m also currently 8th in ASRA Thunderbike (but only competed in 2 of 3 rounds). Next up: Blackhawk Farms, June 10-11; and Heartland Park-Topeka, June 17-18. Thanks again for your support!" (Message edited by buellgirlie on May 30, 2006) |

On June 17th, Brew City has our annual Dave Klosterman led Kettle Moraine ride. More passionately known as the "Dave Ride". Any of the current/ex Belle city members would like to join us, we'd be honored. Just ask CJ or Fiery how fun this ride is! |

CJ! Great seeing you this past weekend! We seemed to miss everyone else with all the excitement going on at the track! Finally summer is teasing us again, and this time it's my turn to be injured at the beginning of the riding season... hmm wes and I just traded places from last year.... But GUESS WHAT!?! Could the 3rd time be the charm? We're all packed up and ready for the Harley Shootout(again) for dragracing at DaGrove. RGN Series racing on top of that too, I'm hoping this time the weather cooperates, but the plan is to be out there to try one more time. Come on out if you can, be great to see you out there! I'll probably be only hitting the drag race in the RGN round because it's a 'run what you brung' type of race. Wes picked out a good one for me...since I don't have a useful clutch hand at the moment... Good Luck to all if I don't talk to you before Blackhawk this weekend!!! Leah |
