Looking for recommendations for a non-magnetic tank bag for distance riding that: 1. Is the perfect height when stuffed to lean my chest on while riding, 2. Easiest possible fuel access. Thanks in advance! |

I use the eclipse sportbike expandable bag. Had it for 14 years. Still works great. http://www.eclipseluggage.com/luggage/202.html |

I've never understood why the Buell tank bag leans away from you. You'd think (like almost every other bag) it'd lean towards you. Especially for those that use maps. Unless it's trying to be more areodynamic. |

I have the Chicane Canyon EX. It is great. It fits very well on the XB9SX, has all of the featuress/pockets I need. See review here: http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motorcycle-tank-bag/chicane-tank-bag/ |

Tourmaster is one way to go. I used big bag (21 liter). Worked fine. And it gave wind protection as well. |

Barker, Daves will correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the difference is the length of the front straps, and maybe the distance between them. It is to allow the air to easier access the relocated air intake, which on the newer models if the mesh screen rear of the gas cap. I did a full review, including measurements and pictures for another Badwebber in another thread. |

I'm not sure if there is a strap difference, but the front of the bags are styled differently to allow for the air access. The new one (51213-04YA) has a crescent shape indent in the front, that is the same shape of the intake area. |

I've noticed the Buell tankbag is at the PERFECT angle to hold an EZ Pass at toll booths. I stick it in the pocket BEHIND the map pocket, and it's worked every time. It NEVER worked in the tank bag I had on the M2 Cyclone, which was flat, not angled forward. Don't know if this was intentional or not, but it works out quite well for me! |

RKA is the ticket, e-pass in the map window. Ridden cross country and cross state with them numerous times on sport type bikes. |

The old bag without the A has been obsolete for some time now. The new one is made to curve around the air intake on the 06 bikes as Craig said. |

I just ordered one of these, I think it's the only non-magnetic, strapless tank bag out there. Waiting for delivery...I'll post a review when it gets in. http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/928/331/ -Ras |

the XB tank isn't what I'd call flat. I don't know how well that Givi will work. I'm using a chase harper with good results. |

My only concern with this rig is the raised letters on the tank vs. the location of the cups. We'll see how it goes. The mount is rubber and should conform to the shape of the tank. (Message edited by Rasmonis on June 16, 2006) |

I use a Cortech Mini Tankbag. I cut the neoprene base a t the front to allow for the intake on my '06. Works like a dream... Lee |

I got the Cortech Tri Bag last year...it consists of a large "base" bag and a smaller bag that expands to 2 different sizes...the 2 bags then zip together to make different sizes depending on how far you're going...great bag http://www.tourmaster.com/xcart/product.php?productid=145&cat=43 |

I went with a Nelson-Rigg tail and tank bag. Took a bit to get the straps the way I like them, now I think they were a great choice. -Mike |

I'm using an older version of the Tourmaster TB-18 bag that I have had since my first motorcycle. Also using the same Tourmaster saddlebags and gloves now for over 15 years. The clear plastic map window has not faded, discolored or cracked. All my zippers work. No holes. No failure of function or form whatsoever. I'm sure that most modern tankbags are of similar quality these days, looking at them it seems so. This has merely been my experience with what I deem to be an excellent brand. I mean, for god's sake I am wearing the same gloves for over 15 years and the stitching is just now starting to come apart a little bit on one thumb. That's good quality in my eyes. |
