About 10 miles from home it began pouring. The first time on this bike (XB9S) in the rain. Foot deep standing water in the road depressions. Put my rain coat on but was soaked to the skin everywhere else by the time I got home. The good part of this story is the way the tires handled this.The Metzler M1 Sportecs on the bike seemed as if I was riding on dry pavement, not one little slip. The best mod I made, of the many, to my bike. | ||

Its been a common occurrence (getting caught in the rain that is) these days up here. I have gotten soaked on about 5 occasions this year so far.  | ||

If you liked the M1's, try the RoadAttacks. The M1 s were my last tire, just wore out a set of RoadAttacks w/7600 miles. Would've been more, but that's another thread. It sucks gettin caught in the rain. | ||

not to long ago I started out a 300 mile trip in the rain back out to altoona PA, man the M1's were awsome, just liek you said never a slip and I was doing like 70 in the rain on route 80 just so I didnt get run over. | ||

Last year was my rain year. Seemed like every time I got on the bike, it rained. This year so far only once. | ||

I got caught in a storm a couple of weeks ago with no rain gear. I learned not only to bring my gear all the time, but to keep my cell in a ziploc bag =/. Damn phones... | ||

A good rain suit is definitely a must on the Buell. I experienced the drenched backside and I was soaked from head to toe (even my boots!) The small buell tail pack is awsome for keeping things dry. I had my cell, wallet, some other stuff in there and that was the only thing that was dry. My tires were pretty worn stock Dunlops and I didn't slip once. These bikes are a well thought out idea and the rain was definately factored in the design process! | ||

I met my g/f for lunch about 1:30 the other day we we're leaving about 2:15 and it looked bad i thought i'd race it out only 8 miles 'til home well i was stuck under a bridge for 30 mins. also hail hurts like a mother doing 60 down the highway | ||

rain feels like getting a tattoo on your skin I'd imagine Hail probably feels like gunshot! OUch!!!! Full Leather and Full Face helmet our a bikers best friend! (Beside the honey holding on tight on the back!) |
