Quick question. I’m considering late model XB style heads for an engine conversion. I don’t believe the heads are available assembled. If I bought new factory heads, valves, springs, etc, is there any reason I could not rent a valve spring compressor and put them together? Specifically I wondering if any other special tools would be needed, valves or seats ground and so on. |

Update. Got everything in and it all went together well. I did a light lapping job on the valves and the seat fit was perfect. The only issue was trying to find a valve spring compressor that would work. I tried three without success. I did some research here and finally ordered the NAPA SER383. |
