Does anyone know a good (inexpensive) place to get a set of tires put on my S3T? I want to try the Bridgestones this time and I know that the dealership will only put on tires they sell.
A place that can remove the tires from the bike would be a plus, as I do not have a set of stands to place the bike on to get the wheels off.

Thanks

Aaron

TorqueCenter in NewBerlin or MotorSports in Waukesha, but you have to remove them from the bike. Not sure who sells Bridgestones locally yet, maybe CourseCafe or CedarburgMotorsports might? Don't know if Don&Roys sells Bridgestones.

A dealership search on the Bridgestone site gave the following:

Sport Motors Harley Davidson
2452 U.S. Hwy. 53
Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin 54729
phone: 715-723-7433
www.sportmotorsharley.com

Torque Center
14666 West National Ave.
New Berlin, Wisconsin 53151
phone: 262-786-4420
www.torquecenter.com

Southeast Sales
6930 North 76th Street
Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53223
phone: 414-463-2540
www.southeastsales.com

Donahue Supersports
6821 Highway 54 East
Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin 54494
phone: 715-424-1762
www.donahuesuperports.com

Motosports Factory
307 N. Grand Ave
Waukesha, Wisconsin 53186
phone: 262-524-9977

==========
One of us here can probably come up with a rear stand for you to borrow if you want to remove the wheels yourself. What part of the county are you located in?

I've had good dealings with MotorSports Factory before. SouthEast is probably your best local bet if you want someone to do the work and if you don't want to go to a Buell/H-D dealer, but I don't think they'll be any cheaper.

Which Bridgestones are you going to try?

Mikej,

Thanks for the info. I have actually talked to the people at the Torque Center, but was concerned about getting the tires off the bike. I have also dealt with Southeast Sales in the past with my Honda's. I am in Milwaukee County, just outside of Wauwatosa.

I was going to try the Bridgestone Battlax 020's. I had them priced up at Torque Center, but was going to check and see if I can save some money by buying online and then having them installed. My guess is that it would be about a wash.

Thanks for the info........I will probably be looking to borrow a stand fairly soon.

My reason for not going to a dealer is that they only sell Dunlops and I wanted to try the Bridgestones.

Check with Jerry/Blastin, he's done the buy online and have MotorSports install them for him before. Not sure of the cost or details though. I do know they'll work with you a little on the pricing of stuff you order through them. If you're anywhere close to Mayfair Mall then Jerry is fairly close to you now. And I've got a Centerstand that should work on your S3. That and a small jack under the front shock mount along with a few safety straps and you should be good to go.

I'd be surprised if Hal's couldn't order a set of Bridgestones for you as I've seen a pair of them at the parts counter before. If not check the speed shop behind them. You'll end up with the shop-time charge still though if you ride in. I think it was reasonable when I had them put the tires on my M2 last time.

Kinger....I've tried buying tires on-line and having them installed at a "local" shop. I'll probably NEVER try that again. There really wasn't any "cost savings".

In addition, the valve didn't seal properly (twice!) and they scratched my PM rims.

Be careful and make sure to use a reputable dealer.

Kinger...Try All Pro Motorsports on Hwy 164 south of Waukesha. If they don't have them, they will get them in a few days. Good prices and free install.

Hi all...Does anyone at Brew City or Uke's have an X1 equipped with stock handlebars and a Corbin Gunfighter and Lady saddle. If yes, please ping me as I would like to get together to check the fit before ordering.

I like the Buell equivalent as it places me closer to the bars and appears to be a comfortable pillion. I just wish it came with the removable back rest.

Hi Guys and Gals,

Am I dense or something ? I just got a schedule from Jeff Trudell on the Brew City BRAG events and he called it the Hal's schedule. .

I am not so sure I would have been agreeable on Jeff taking directorship if I knew he was associated with BCB !!! HA HA HA HA HA... just kidding.

It's a small (Buell) world after all.....

Cool,
Charlotte

Whatever....Jeff was a "member" of the BCB chapter. I don't recall ever meeting him because he lives in your neck of the woods.

Oh hey, what Mike said :D

PS Pick up the bike on Thursday... 53 degrees and raining sounds good enough for me... I just can't take the PMS (parked motorcycle syndrome) anymore.

They were talking about changing the next ride. I imagine they'll be discussing that at the next meeting next week. The ride will probably be either April 20th or 27th. It was to go up to the Course Cafe, probably with a little Holy Hill thrown in by some, but I think Dennis posted an alternative up above someplace.

Char...Mike's right (sort of :))

The next ride is scheduled for Sunday, April 27. The time is yet to be determined. I had posted a potential change to the original ride. That potential change will need to be changed again. The dates of the Good Design Award display has been moved back to start in May. That being said, our original ride will remain. We'll be heading up to the Corse Cafe for some lunch and gawking (personally, I get excited just looking at the MV Augusta ).

You now have a copy of our ride schedule. The time and routes are usually determined at the prior meeting. I'll try to keep you in the loop.

Getting back to the real world...

Dennis
