I was out for a quick ride today and noticed this space on this bolt, on the steering head

look

is it supposed to like that or flush? Is it something to worry about?

No!

(It's supposed to look a lot more dirty then that, and be in focus : ) )

Just kidding. Thats exactly what they look like. There is a big bow tie shaped rubber isolator wedged into that isolator bore, and the bolt floats inside that.

If you take it off (which I would not recommend unless you have to rotate the engine for some reason) and look at it, it makes a lot more sense.

Take a look at this.

It looks like the rubber has broke loose but can not see from your photo. Look at the upper side and compare to the photos in the link posted.

If the aluminum part of the bracket is resting on the large head of the bolt, then the isolator has failed.

Jaydub,

That there is a good front isolator. : )

It is strange looking for sure.
