Be aware that these are not legal in all states. In the states that they are legal most are only legal during daylight hours. Even where they are legal I've heard of people being hassled and ticketed by cops that thought that they weren't. They do increase your chances of being seen, and that's never bad. |

>>>>Be aware that these are not legal in all states UNLESS SOMETHING HAS JUST CHANGED...That's an inaccurate statement. It **IS** legal in every state as per a special ruling of the USDOT. I carry a copy of the ruling with me. In fact, the manufacturers send a copy and tell you to keep it. |

Cool, I've never installed a set because a friend back in San Diego, a CHP motor officer told me that they were illegal. Of course, on another thread we have someone that was ticketed for exceeding a corner speed advisory. So we know Cops, like the rest of us are fallible. I would order one if I didn't intend to change over to HID headlights having this information. If you do install one follow Court's example and carry the statute. It won't always fend off a ticket, but it might. (as long as you are polite and not confrontational with it) Thanks for the correction Court! |

I've got a buddy that removed his modulator after a couple of close calls at intersections -- the cars that turned left in front of him DID, in fact see him, but thought he was flasshing his lights to indicate that he was going to let them turn and go on . . . . . just a data point -- |

Being a truck driver, flashing headlights have always been known to me as a signal meaning "clear to merge". I do think modulators attract attention, but they are an annoyance to me. I know other truckers who feel differently though. It's just something I've learned to deal with. Most bikers stay well clear of my rig anyhow, and I'm always on the lookout besides.
