I just noticed a small chip of powdercoat missing on my front wheel... anyone know if this would be covered under warranty or should i just find some color close to it in touch up paint and say screw it? Thanks. | ||

you can get touch up paint from buell...its not a perfect match but it hides it alright. | ||

Mine has a few chips too. I am thinking road debris is causing it (small stones, etc...) A little touch up paint should get you fixed up. | ||

While we're on the subject...do the amber wheels need stripped in order to powdercoat? And how hard is it to do? | ||

Are you serious? Not a warranty item. Has nothing to do with the product or factory defect. If the bike would have came from the factory with the defect, then yes. (and you would have had to notify someone prior to taking delivery for cosmetic defects) Call For More Info 1-900-For-Cash | ||

Wouldn't the Tire/Wheel Coverage cover the wheels? I believe someone on here got a new tire due to running over a nail or something of the sorts. Review your warranty to see if you have this coverage, then read the fine print. Kyle Brine United States Air Force | ||

99buellx1... yes i was serious. I got 4 new rims for my Jeep Wrangler under warranty because the coating started to come off... I don't know how powder coat works and wasn't sure if it will progress and the area that is chipped continue to get larger and larger. Anyway, I paid a lot of money for this bike, so if it would be covered I would gladly take a new wheel. | ||

powder coating is supposed to be very strong, so it would take a lot to chip it. i should not get worse, i have some scrapes on mine that went into the rim and it never got worse. but a chip is not cuz the coating is faulty, unless it is all over the rim. No matter how fast you ride, there will always be someone in front of you!! | ||

The guy I bought my bike from said when hit a nail a new tire was covered under warranty... I have no Idea how that works??? Once a Marine always a Marine! | ||

Well, like I mentioned, if it's an actual defect, then it could be covered. But you would have to prove that it's not a rock chip. Also, there was an optional coverage that was available at the time of purchase that is the Wheel and Tire Coverage. That covers road hazards that damage your tire or wheel, but the wheel would have to be damaged to qualify (like dented), and like I said, it was an optional coverage at the time of purchase. I thought it was widely known on here that the amber wheels were "brittle". I just recently noticed a tiny chip in my wheel while cleaning the bike last week. No big deal, a little touch up paint. But be advised. Kyle Brine United States Air Force |
