D a m n Loren how did you do that? Every time I try to down load I can't get the size right, YOU THE MAN!!!!! By the way all, the picture with the old man in it, that is the next orange county chopper bike. No s h i t his name is Charles, he is from Oklahoma, he personally called up Paul SR. and talked him into fixing up that old Yammaha. This guy was a RIOT!! He told us that Paul SR. told him that if he shipped that bike up there he would personally take care of the build for him! We ended up putting on our helmets and paying him a few bucks for gas just to shut him up, what a gas! | ||

Loren, what was the brand name on the Top tripple that relocated your bars? Also, I am shopping around for that Autocom stuff, and found a couple of good deals, but where did you buy yours? Maybe a better deal than what I am finding? | ||

Paul, I used XAT.com's jpeg Optimizer to reduce the file size to below 60K. The top triple clamp is made by Heli Modified www.helibars.com Al at American Sport Bike sales them or buy direct from them. You should do a test sit on my bike and see what you think. The Autocom I bought from www.autocomamerica.com. They do have some sales right now on their new 2006 product like. You may be able to find a deal on leftover 2005 products. I bought mine last fall. Autocom marked down all their base kits %50 to clear their stock out. Pammy, from Cycle Rama (sponsor here) was looking at becoming a dealer maybe??? from a post she made a week or so back asking questions about peoples experiences with Autocom systems. Engles there in KC is a dealer too. I'll have to keep an eye on American Chopper for the old guys bike. I'm ready for another Road Trip!! (Message edited by gowindward on May 24, 2006) | ||

Jim, How about my race kit???? Bob, Did you end up getting a new rear tire? I ordered one for my bike. After last weekends trip I did some measuring and figured I would be in trouble by the end of the Homecoming trip if I didn't start out with a new rear tire. | ||

Loren I didn't. I had about 1800 miles and had used about 3/32's. If we ride 1800 and use the same I will have 2/32's left. I also figured the next 1800 probably wouldn't be so aggressive.  | ||

Drake, I didn't think I wanted one until they said I couldn't have one after May. I was even considering sticking it in the corner of the garage and just so I could say I have one. The this last weekend I listened to Paul's bike with it's race muffler. It's not really that loud, but sounds really good. It has a really good tone to it. Is the big move this weekend? Bob, I had .041" to the wear bars and .060" to the bottom of the tread. The current wear rate for this tire has been just under 22miles/.001" of tread depth. That's about 900mi to the wear bars and 1320mi. to being bald in the center. I figured that would be pushing my luck. | ||

Loren, Have you taken into account the inherent variability in the strength of the rubber compound at various depths? Besides, as you remove material, with the tire pressure remaining constant, the stress placed on the remaining material may weaken it further and accelerate the wear rate you have experienced thus far. At 4.545 x 10^-5 inches per mile, if the wear rate increases 0.01% for each mile traveled from its present state, how would that effect your remaining mileage to bald? | ||

Actually as the tire wears, the circumfrence will decrease, casuing more revolutions per mile, thereby also decreasing the mileage remaining, which would of course be at an increasing rate! | ||

Interesting indeed.  I wonder if the rate of change in circumference would be mitigated by the effect of the tire stretching as the air pressure remains constant against an ever-decreasing amount of rubber. Or, do you think the cords would prevent such expansion? | ||

Yes, but if the cords did not allow for some expansion,the tire would not grow when you add air.  | ||
