my 2000 m2 cylcone developed a low idle after bringing it out of storage for summer. when the choke is all the way in the engine will stall. With the choke all the way out it idles low and won't speed up as it gets warmer. I also found a tear in the fuel accelerator diaphram would that cause a small gas leak. |

Try removing the carb & use "gumout" on the idle circuit. Remove, clean & put back the idle jet. My '01 M2L had the same issue this spring, despite lots of sta-bil. Simple & easy to fix. Jets are cheap, and you can fix the accelerator pump while you're at it. This is a good time to re-jet the idle jet if you have not already done so. See the carb section... http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/3842/104550.html?1127398164 The difference in idle quality & warm up time is major. See also http://www.bikernet.com/garage/sturgisbuell2001-1.asp and http://www.nightrider.com/biketech/hd_cv_mods.htm But! use The Badweb jetting numbers. ( I also would not remove the carb from the throttle cables, just pop it out of it's boot & work on it hanging there. But I'm lazy. ) (Message edited by aesquire on June 03, 2006) |
