Where the tank on an 01' X1 sets in the front of the bike. It has a rattle or knocking sound at low rpms where the vibration is the highest. I have checked and it is not engine it actually is the fuel tank rattling. Is there supposed to be a rubber cushion there or anything to absorb vibration? It is very annoying. |

Perhaps put some spiral wrap or similar around the section of the frame that the tank slides into? |

I ended up putting a 1 inch strip of self adhesive foam around the triangle part of the frame directly under the fuel cell. I also place the same underneath the area that it mounts to at the seat. I then test drove it and no rattling. I do not understand why it developed a rattle though. It never did until the person that I bought it from removed the fuel cell. |
