i have a 1997 s1 were should my rpms be when its just idling. |

I keep mine between 900-1000 when the engine is up to full temp. |

ALWAYS adjust idle after the engine is up to operating temperature, and do not let it idle below 950 RPM, or above 1100 RPM. Too low, and your charging system will not be able to support all the DDFI sensors and draw from the battery. Also, oil will have a hard time getting to the top end to cool & lubricate the rockers & valves. Too high, and the bike will exhibit a "hung idle" situation where it will take an inordinate amount of time to allow the engine speed to slow down from the upper revs under no load (if you goose it in neutral and it takes a long time to rev down.)
