just a thought, you know it will run a little lean without the ecm right? and that it is not a good thing for your motor. anyway, good luck selling it, just thought i might give you a heads up on the problem with not putting it in before you sell it and find out. | ||

Thanks No Rice, I had my Tps reset after the can install Runs like a bullet from the first day I got it. Also should'nt the AFV ajust accordingly (air/fuel mixture) Maybe someone should inlighten me on the downfalls of the just the can install. The ECM will adjust the programmed maps(globally, rich or leaner)via the AFV. When you change the exhaust (or intake) the SHAPE of the fuel map needs be changed due to the different flow characteristics. So after the ECM learns the new muffler, it adjusts the maps globally rich or leaner, resulting in some abnormally rich and/or lean regions in the map because the shape or "curve" is not correct for the muffler. The race ECM has the correct mapping (shape or curve) for the combination of all the race kit components. Hope this helps... Dave (Message edited by xb9 on May 09, 2006) | ||
