Been seeing a lot of the chopped tail here.I must say it look mean,and I want it on my bike.The ones out there are way too expensive.I'm sure it can be done myself.But has anyone here done it to give me some tips? I can fabricate my license bracket and turn signal brackets.Any input and pictures I really appreciate it.I got to make my City X look more Baaaad! Redster Redster | ||

Dremel, hack saw and some files and get to work...Just take your time.. it's not a hard mod just a little time consuming for it to turn out nice... | ||

It seems harder than it is. I cut mine with a hacksaw and polished it down with a flap wheel on an angle grinder. If you're careful with the initial cut you'll have little finish work to do. If you cut out a notch under the tailight it will open a path from the clear lens (covered by the stock tail) to the license plate; then you won't need a separate license plate light. Once you remove the tailight lens you'll see what I mean. Good luck. I think they look much better with the tail chopped. Bill | ||

I'll Trade you mine has been cut by the guy I bought the bike from... I fabbed up a better aluminum plate holder and trim piece.. It looks like something stock.. I love the way it looks but I need a tail now.. I'm looking for a uncut city X tail... I need the tail to be able to mount a blinder unit I just bought.. I'd even pay the shipping shoot me a email and maybe we can work something out $$$... | ||
