Pictures from today's Battletrax in Frederick, MD. The weather forecast was not very good, I rode through the drizzle this morning and it didn't look good when I got to Frederick. Once again, the staff of HD/Buell of Frederick could not be discouraged, setting up another wicked course and having a blast practicing on the dealership's bikes, including the new Lighting: It started to rain a little, and we kept on practicing! But then it cleared up, the track dried and we got the event in. Only 9 people showed up and rode. If you didn't come because of the weather, YOU MISSED A GREAT ONE, SUCKAS! |

Now it's a good thing this picture came out blurry so the rider's identity is somewhat annonymous...

We were all in the 35-36 second range, when all of a sudden this guy comes in trailering this old '81 Yamaha Seca. In his practice lap, he did a 33!!!! He won the event with a 32 something. |

here Darryl and Josh on their BMW's Josh crashed during practice and flipped the bike on it's right case. It was leaking oil but he was able to fix it with permatex!

Now what happened next I had never experienced. Enough people asked to ride the new Lighting that they actually let us ride it. In fact they let us ride the Blast, the Old Lighting, the New one and the Firebolt through the course! It was great!!!! Thanks HD/Buell of Frederick Fortunately, I got my picture taken on the Lighting (thanks to Steve):

My bet is, and Jose' can confirm, that the guy on the Seca was silky smooth. Call it what you want, I suspect there were several skilled "Trax'ers" on hand. It's all about smooth...not Quiñones, er....Cajones ! |

He was smooth, but very aggresive and definetly hustling the bike around. Plus as the picture aboved showed, he used his foot dirt track style to get around the tight turns. He was able to keep a very tight line, which is what I usually have a problem with, I tend to go wide, especially right at the first few turns (adrenaline) I keep getting better at it, but I have to pick my lines better and get consistent. But it's fun, no matter what bike you ride on. I'm not dirt tracking it with my feet either. MikeY was there briefly, but I think the sight of me riding an SV650 made him sick so he went home!! Frederick will have Four more events next year, I just hope the weather cooperates and we can get big turnouts. I'll "pimp" it as much as I can. |

Jose'..."Buell Burner" is a hell of a good rider, but I have yet to see him beat the posse. He is not smoothe, he's borderline out of control. Heard he crashed on Sunday? Nothing has yet to compare to you and Neil going at each other during competetion at Susquehanna...that was too cool....you guys upped the ante by a couple hundredths each lap...THAT'S COMPETITION!! |

Greestlightnin, Well I guess to me I would consider him smooth. I don't remember if Ben (Buell Burner) crashed or not. The only two people I saw crash was Todd on his S3 and Josh on his BMW. I'm sorry, who's the posse?? (you mean MikeY, Al and Ben??? or the Texters?} The smoothest I have seen in our area is Paul on his ZRX1200, he hardly moves on the bike, lets the bike do all the work. Al Rudy is really good too, so is MikeY. Neil is pretty smooth too. I wish I had gone to York, but it was Linda's Birthday "weekend" and I had NO choice..... Riding against Neil is always fun we seem to push each other and get along well. hopefully by next year my S3 will be running again. |

Jose'...That would be the "PA Posse"...hehehe. Mike Y., Ben, Texters, Neil, and especially Paul, I think he's the smoothest of the bunch. Don't know about that Al guy though... What happened to the S3? Thought I saw a pic somewhere, you sitting on it (on it's side?) in front of a tree? Hope it wasn't anything serious. |
