Brine...
The KBC FFR is quieter than my previous helmet, a HJC Symax (I like the flip-front cuz of wearing glasses). The KBC fits better, too. And, as an added bonus, I can ride with the chin bar up if I'm so inclined!
And, I've bought LOTS of stuff from New Enough. I even visited them when I was in Lubbock on business - some of the nicest, friendliest folks ever. |

I have a hi-viz Aerostich Roadcrafter for colder months, and a Joe Rocket mesh jacket and pants for the warmer months. I always wear one or the other. I also wear gloves, (warm pair for cold, mesh pair for warm) and Joe Rocket boots, as well as a full-face helmet, and ear plugs. I wear ballistic sunglasses when it's sunny. I wear all of this stuff, even to go to the store for some milk. People look at me when I'm walking around in my bright yellow 'stich, because I look like a fireman. But they'd stare even more if I walked in with nasty-looking scars on my arms or legs.
The 'stich is quite warm when the temperatures are below 80 degrees or so. Once it's above 80, I only wear the 'stich if I am going out just to ride, (not to the store, work, etc.) The Joe Rocket mesh stuff is great in the summer, and I can wear shorts and a T-shirt underneath and still feel comfortable.}
I find it amusing that Bart said
Nothing gets me worse than some yuppy punk riding his ricer in nikes and shorts.
I would consider your choice of sleeveless T and brain bucket helmet and jeans quite inadequate for a get-off.
Some folks dress for the ride. I dress for the fall... |

I upgrade my gear at the same pace as I upgrade my bike.
My minimum kit is the helmet, gloves, boots, jacket and jeans. If I am going more then a couple of miles, or will be on the interstate, I throw on the leather pants. |

Long story short: Visit to Highside City @35-40 mph, sudden stop against guardrail, bent fork, busted front wheel, chewed frame puck, busted pegs.
My Gear: JR Jacket, KBC full face, Nitro Boots, JR gloves = small brush burn on forearm. Maybe $400 tops in gear.
So far I am very happy with my purchases. These things ain't cheap! We have an expensive hobby here...as noted by my wife!

i've got an ffr as well. noise isn't too bad, and the design is specific to not produce lift with the chinbar open. really nice piece for a decent price.
unfortunately mine was also crash tested. obviously i am happy with the crash test results, i can still hear the sound of it hitting the pavement.
having grown up off-road i do not ride without gear. too many of my old helmets have deep gouges that could've been my head, including now the ffr. |

I always wear my HiViz Aerostitch jacket with full face helmet and leather gloves, BUT, during the heat of the Fla. summer around town I have been caught with the nikes and shorts on, but ALWAYS with the helmet and jacket... |

kid went down in my then home town about 15 years ago -- full face helmet, jeans, boots, gloves and a sleeveless t-shirt (AKA wife beater) --
he was doing about 30 in a construction zone, where the infamous "grooved pavement" lurked, coated with semi-fresh tar, accompanied by a fair amount of the paving surface that had been removed to make the grooves (AKA pea gravelly) . . . .
he hit the deck, tumbled, taking a fair amount of skin off himself in a spiral fashion, from shoulder to knees --
no head injury, no foot nor hand injury, the gear did it's job where the gear was present
6 days later, he died due to massive infections that had entered his person through the places the skin was not . . . fully lucid and aware until the time of checkout
dress like ya want, understand the risks you take, and refrain from name calling, would be my suggestion to ya
I am reminded of a t-shirt I once saw on a co-worker --

The bugs and gravel on the legs is enough to keep me from riding in shorts. I'm always wearing jeans and boots, helmet and gloves.
On the Buells, or any bike without a full windshield, I wear a full face Shoei. On the Road Pig or the old shovelhead, both windshield-equipped, I'll ride with a 3/4 or even a 1/2 helmet, depending on temperature.
I'm variable on jackets. In really warm weather, say 90 or above (which is most of time in Houston in the summertime), I'll wear mesh on the Buells and risk my tender skin on the Harleys. Below about 75, it's Vanson or Schott. Below about 50, add chaps and insulated gloves. Below 40, I'm in the truck.

From what I've seen they don't ride enough to get the bike hot...From restaurant to bar to other bar, to local hangout to home(If they're lucky) the pipe never gets a chance to heat up. They're just training for their first Harley cruiser. |
