i know it'll handle better with a 180 (XB12) but i'm not looking to road race anyone for a trophy, a 190 or better yet, a 200 would look tough on the back would it fit though? anyone done this? How's it feel? |

I know a 190 has been done. I think a 200 would be too much on a stock rim. |

Like several others on badWeb I use a 190 on the back of my XB9R because we have part used race tyres of this size available. The tyres fit fine and work well but I only use them on the track and when they get hot there is very little clearance between belt and tyre. I don't know how wide the 12 swing arm is but I can't imagine there'd be a problem using a 190 but a 200 could be a problem if the swing arm is the same as the 9r |

swingarms are the same between 9 and 12. i would bet that a 200 will foul the belt. |

I have often pondered the question of what is the proper width of a tire for a certain width rim. Is there any authoritative source that would document this. Not that I don't appreciate you guys taking a stab at it with intelligent guesses and all, but... jimidan |

See the "Rim" column under "Tire Charts" (which I presume is ideal width): http://www.steelthundercc.com/tiresizes.html In contrast, this chart lists permitted widths: http://www.dropbears.com/u/utilities/tyrerim.htm |
