Don't have any idea how the XBRR will go, but man do I like the music that's on the Buell XBRR web site. I need it for the iPod, is it available anywhere? |

Rumor has it that it's Erik's band. |

The Reverend Horton Heat did the music for the video for the xb's Psychobilly freakout IIRC. Dunno about the RR (Message edited by diablobrian on April 28, 2006) |

>>>>Ahhh but it wasn't a statement, it was a question That is an accurate statement. There have been a LOT of inaccurate ones on Badweb lately. I do have a collection of MP3's that are the REAL early versions of stuff Erik is working on, perhaps for a CD. Good stuff. He and I seem to talk more about music than motorcycles on many occasions. We are both frustrated musicians. He does a lot more "rock" style (the stuff like you hear on the video) and I'm more headed toward jazz improv with some dabbling in the 60's and 70's "old" rock. Fun stuff.

What employee number were you Court? I'm very interested in Buell history and you hold a lot of the keys. I understand there is something in the works, and besides that there is some information you can't, shouldn't, and just plain won't divulge. I respect the hell out of that. I do appreciate what you do share with us. I also appreciate what you do for us, from the shirts, autographs, help resolving issues, and helping to resolve legitimate issues. You as an individual are a big part of the Buell experience for a lot of us badwebbers. Thanks Court. You Rock, even when you aren't playing rock. Not trying to kiss up or anything, I'm just opinionated (you may have noticed) and say what's on my mind. BTW that pic looks very Bruce Willis-esque from his "Bruno" days. >>>So Court, did he tell you who the band was? No and I don't think (never talked about it) that Erik is that involved with the website stuff. He did, if memory serves, some soundtrack like stuff for one of those moto-cross style highlights, leaps and crashes videos...don't know if it ever went "prime time" or not. Erik and I are both "closet" guitar players from college days and frustrated musicians. . . it's also the best "diversion", at least in my opinion. I've no idea what employee number I was. I was actually going to the factory once a month for a long time before I actually was an employee, got involved in lots of efforts and spent a lot of time "pre-riding" bikes and logging impressions/observations. Some cool stuff. I've said this for so many years that some folks will have grown weary, but EVERY manufacturer, from John Deere to Wendy's is working on new products constantly. Buell adheres rigidly to a policy of not discussing future product. Different folks have different opinions of that strategy. For Buell it makes a great deal of sense, in fact it's essential. Ford, Chrysler and some folks "test the waters" with things they are thinking about, but not committed to. Buell hasn't the luxury of walking 9 miles down a path before pulling the trigger on a g-no go decision. I talk, on a regular basis, to about 9 folks involved in various efforts. They know, they've been told and I don't hesitate to remind them that I am NOT an employee and want/need to know NOTHING. Laugh at me if you will, but sometimes things slip into correspondence....."I'd like to help, but my time is totally committed to _________" or the great one . . "this is the most fun I've ever had...at the same time getting to work on ___, ___, ___ and the ____". There are several other areas where slips can occur. Just so you guys will know what my personal policy is....I delete ANYTHING that has ANYTHING I am not supposed to know. Since the early days, whenever I NEEDED to know, someone arranged for me to get to East Troy and get briefed. I'm not the only person here who has done that. The good news, I can never remember a year that, if I'd bought a Buell, I would have kicked myself for not waiting. I ordered a new Ford truck recently and it's set to arrive this week. I know darn well that they are coming with the NEW F-250 this September. Cool, but the F-150 I'm getting will be everything I need and more. (yes, I have finally made the F-250 to F-150 leap) and the same applies to Buells. If you bought a Buell last week, my advise is to ride it, enjoy it and smile every chance you get. Court |
